As it happens I live in a very ethnically diverse area of Sheffield and my neighbours on both sides are of Indian origin. I am also on very friendly terms with the chap that runs the shop three doors down and often stop for a chat when I go in there.

The people on this thread supporting the gypsies at Dowds Farm should invite them to come live next to them. The fact is people (including children)have been threatened by them and Dowds has now become a no go area for my kids. The sooner these scum are moved on the better. If anyone doesnt like the law's of this land then surley they are welcome to look for a land that has law's more agreable with them? Thats not aimed at Travelers or Romany Gypsys particularly. Thats aimed at everyone. There are laws here that make me want to live somewhere else too. I would love to live in Australia and if I got the chance I would go there expecting to adapt and live under their law and their rules. I've established that. I've also established that travellers are perceived as not being "normal" by the likes of delldays (seemingly because they are a minority group - bless him) and should give up their traditions and live in non-existent houses with non-existent money.

 

It seems that some posters think that the behaviour of a few means that all travellers are appalling individuals. I mean, if the behavior of a few reflected the whole it would be easy for a casual reader of this forum to form the view that all saints fans are fascists. Don't you think it's interesting that they aren't recognised as a race in Ireland or the US, and that in this years census they were separated as a different 'race' as Romany gypsies complain that they are classed as the same 'race'? And that a lot of Romany gypsies are ashamed to be classed as similar due to Irish travellers reputations.
