Nicky Maynard has said numerous times this season that he won't be moving, and the City board have said they wouldn't sell for under £5m. I would say it is highly unlikely. A quick search on Google says Villa & Everton were monitoring him last September & Fiorentina were sniffing around in April. Genuinely would be a coup to get this one, if there's some truth in the rumour, and he'd have a new Belgian pal at the club for company already!

I really really can't understand why we are running after strikers with serious price tags when we already have 3 front men plus Doble plus Guly.Surely it must mean that at least one of RL,LB or DC just isn't in Nigel's plans.

Adkins confirmed publicly the club bid £3.2m for Billy Sharp earlier in the transfer window. Not unreasonable to think they could make a £4.5m bid for another striker. Very unlikely Bristol City would accept such a bid though though, considering they have reportedly already turned down a larger off than that this summer from Leicester City.

I think I'm intelligent enough to take everything at face value until it's confirmed without having the Saints Web white knights ride to my rescue and point out the flaming obvious. But clearly not intelligent enough to spend your life trawling other football boards and rumour sites so you can pompously diss any re-posted rumour. I said that so had a lot of their first choice team and that it was a Bristol City XI team. If I had not said that, this thread may have gone off on a tangent of believing that statement to be significant, when it is not. I think it is far more boring to tell me that I'm being boring, when I'm actually staying on topic with relevant information.
