VectisSaint Posted 25 July, 2011 Share Posted 25 July, 2011 Lets hope the odious Bernie gets his cheque book out and installs him at Loftus Road, you just know if Big Sam gets hime that he will come back and haunt us. Good luck to either team that takes the waste of space. You have been warned.
Big John Posted 25 July, 2011 Share Posted 25 July, 2011 when saints played werder bremen i was sat in front of a couple of chaps who boo'ed alex oc whenever he touched the ball, interspersed with a few f's and b's for good measure. it reminded me of how some treated puncheon, very strange. actually i wonder how young alex would react to being dropped for a newcomer? maybe he too would throw a tantrum. puncheon is a very good player who iperhaps would benefit from having a more talented team around him. i also think that it is due to his abilities that he has stood out whilst others in the team have been happy to stand aside to see him fail rahter than get in positions where they could have helped. Good luck to either team that takes the waste of space. You have been warned. Dont be silly, we havent spent a penny yet because were in the process of a takeover (and if that happens, the targets will be a lot better than Puncheon) and our whole budget is going to be spent on DJ Campbell. Crab Lungs Posted 25 July, 2011 Share Posted 25 July, 2011 Everyone alludes to his attitude but I've heard him say absolutely nothing about Saints that has been derogatory. He acknowledged that he wasn't having the best of times here in that infamous TalkSport interview (in which he was accused, on here by some, of slagging off the club) and sounded thoroughly professional. Since he was loaned out, I can find nothing in which suggests that he was a complete t0sspot. The only incident I can recall is his benching and subsequent walkout at Tranmere - but by then the fans with the littlest of minds had already decided that he wasn't for them. If anything, Chamberlain has since been much more unprofessional. Good luck Punch, you might be given a bit more slack elsewhere.
Saint Garrett Posted 25 July, 2011 Share Posted 25 July, 2011 To ne fair, somethings obviously happened behind closed doors, or Adkins wouldn't have treated him like he has done, in Adkins I trust.
Saints Mad Si Posted 25 July, 2011 Share Posted 25 July, 2011 Agreed, there is no way he would of been training with the U18 if there hadnt been some altercation. Best thing is for everyone to move on. Adkins has with De Ridder so let him go.
hamster Posted 25 July, 2011 Share Posted 25 July, 2011 I accept that we need to part but i wish it was on better terms for both our sakes. one day punch is gonna find a team that plays HIS way, that will be a very good team to watch. He's the kind of player I would like to one day wearing thge England shirt. Our loss. [sAD]

You mean you want a journeyman, unsettled, unsettling runt who is rejected by all the clubs he gets a chance with? Puncheon may have something about him (overrated by some here), but he clearly finds it difficult working with Managers and/or others. And he would not be the 1st player in history to be shunned because of attitude issues. Anyway that's not the type of player I want to see in an England shirt. I want to see players that have come through their parent clubs and stuck at it, playing proper football and continuing to show some respect for the club that has nurtured them. I want to see the breeding ground clubs protected by ensuring ALL academy products MUST stay until their 21st birthday (and put two fingers up to Europe employment law). I want to see this countries football ideals get back to skill first, rather than money first.

Let's be honest - no one has a clue as to what has been the real issue with Mr. P, other than he has massively f**ked off our manager and CEO. Do you really think we would treat an obvious talent like this unless he really messed up big time?? No one player is bigger than the club, and Mr. P I guess does not want to play my our rules - which is fine by me
Chin Strain Posted 26 July, 2011 Share Posted 26 July, 2011 Interesting that so many clubs have been willing to take a punt on him. But they haven't, have they. There' have ben lots of clubs linked, but nobody has taken a punt yet. I suspect his agent is linking him to everyone. Let's hope there's some miles in at least one of these links. So fans here took a dislike to him, Tranmere fans took a dislike to him, and we make him train with da yoof because he is a model pro? Doesn't it seem likely that he has some kind of problem? Let's see what he says about us when he finally gets away.

I don't think he's ever played for Tranmere, so why should their fans dislike him, other than a general dislike for any opposing player that is? beatlesaint Posted 26 July, 2011 Share Posted 26 July, 2011 QPR or West Ham will either make or break him for good. If it is all down to attitude then Big Sam or Warnock will sort that out. IMHO he needs a strong manager who wont take any bs.
