The9 Posted 25 July, 2011 Posted 25 July, 2011 The missus came up with (to the tune of Night Fever, see what she did there?) "De Ridder, De Ridderrrrr, He knows how to do it De Ridder De Ridderrrrr He knows how to move it". Or of course "Knight Fever" also works. Probably could do with some tweaking of "do it" and "move it" but it's partially faithful to the original, and a vaguely familiar tune. Which also has actions.
John Cool Posted 25 July, 2011 Posted 25 July, 2011 (edited) A bit of a long shot, but this Fair To Midland song is stunningly good... Ridder me this! What can you find? That always comes from the Archers end. Ridder me this! In your plain sight, When you're red and white! Up the Saints. Edited 25 July, 2011 by John Cool minor improvement
rshephard3 Posted 25 July, 2011 Posted 25 July, 2011 Steve DeRidders on the pitch, EE-I-EE-I-O With a right foot here, a left foot there, Here a goal, there a goal, Everywhere a goal goal, Steve De Ridders on the pitch, EE-I-EE-I-O
benjii Posted 25 July, 2011 Posted 25 July, 2011 Steve De Ridder, He plays on either wing, Although he doesn't use both feet He's from the same country as Magrite To whatever tune you want. It doesn't matter. It will rock anyway.

Scoobysaint Posted 25 July, 2011 Posted 25 July, 2011 Not sure of the lyrics but Steve De Ridder fits in nicely with the chorus of Sing Hosanna. Something along the lines of: Steve De Ridder Steve De Ridder Steve De Ridder Scoring from the right Steve De Ridder Steve De Ridder Steve De Ridder In the red and white Tune:
saint si Posted 25 July, 2011 Posted 25 July, 2011 How about the old Rasiak chant... Na na na na (etc), Stevie De Ridder, De Ridder... Stevie De Ridder... (repeat)
Saint Fan CaM Posted 25 July, 2011 Posted 25 July, 2011 Not sure of the lyrics but Steve De Ridder fits in nicely with the chorus of Sing Hosanna. BristolRedStripe Posted 26 July, 2011 Posted 26 July, 2011 For some reason the Sweeney tune comes into my head! De Ridder, De Ridder, Da, Dalada, Da, Da Da! Worked much better for Neil Heaney....
BristolRedStripe Posted 26 July, 2011 Posted 26 July, 2011 (To the tune of Delilah) I saw him wide on the right when he passed by their left back (DA DA DA etc.) I saw his flickering skills as he did it again (DA DA DA etc.) Heeeeee was from Belgium As he deceived them I watched and went out of my mind My, my, my, De Rider Fly, fly, fly, De Rider I can see, him crossing towards Connolly Or cutting inside and teeing up one more for Ricky...
Golden Balls Posted 26 July, 2011 Posted 26 July, 2011 To this tune: We should sing . . . Steve De Ridder, Ridder, Ridder Steve De Ridder! This would actually work. Very simple with a new tune for a football chant. I think we would have to say his name as 'Stevie' though
Golden Balls Posted 26 July, 2011 Posted 26 July, 2011 Stevie, Stevie De Ridder run down the wing for me, dodo do do do, do do do do do (repeat)
Saint Stimp Posted 26 July, 2011 Posted 26 July, 2011 Some good songs here, but it might help if we actually choose one this time rather than just having the usual big list of songs which all fade into obscurity? Poll maybe?
Griffo Posted 26 July, 2011 Posted 26 July, 2011 Stevie, Stevie De Ridder run down the wing for me, dodo do do do, do do do do do (repeat) I tried to start that a few times but for Chamberlain. Didn't seem to catch on at all.
Golden Balls Posted 26 July, 2011 Posted 26 July, 2011 I tried to start that a few times but for Chamberlain. Didn't seem to catch on at all. I tried it for Adam Lallana once too. Maybe problem being they both have songs already. If we sing this one from the off with De Ridder then it will get going.
Jones91 Posted 26 July, 2011 Posted 26 July, 2011 "Gala - Freed from desire" Stevie De Ridder #insert lyrics here# Stevie De Ridder Na na na na na naaa naa na naaa naa na na
Golden Balls Posted 26 July, 2011 Posted 26 July, 2011 "Gala - Freed from desire" Stevie De Ridder On the wing he's the provider Stevie De Ridder Na na na na na naaa naa na naaa naa na na Coat?
dune Posted 26 July, 2011 Posted 26 July, 2011 We finally have the opportunity to use this classic. I have always had a dream of this being sung at St Marys, all of us arm in arm with big smiles on our faces swaying and blowing kisses to each other. win or lose sink or swim one thing is certain, we'll never give in! arm in arm hand in hand we all stand together win or lose sink or swim one thing is certain, we'll never give in! arm in arm hand in hand we all love de ridder.
