yep , Bournemouth Pier about 92,

I think Kylie Minogue was there.

My 1990 to 1995 memory is a bit hazy tbf.

I worked at the Holiday revival - defunct bar thing by the Pier in the summer of 91. That roadshow year young Danni ***** was appearing. Walked straight past us in the bar - one of the staff goes, 'christ you're small aint ya!...as you do!

Mike Read getting a brickie to build a garage around Smiley Miley's car at Castle Field during the show - my how he didn't laugh!

Steve Wright down there too.

Simon Mayo with Travis was the last one I recall.

Then I got a bit old and music went wrong.

I went to the one in Southsea in either '91 or '92 with a couple of mates, when we were at college.

At the time Steve Wright was the main man, and I think off the back of a number of sketches he used to do at the time an "Arnie - I'll be back"type single was released?!

That and Bits and Pieces is about all I can remember!!

There was one in Southampton in 04/05 time I think?

I think that was Power In The Park which ran on the Common for a few years until the year there was loads of fights. Having what I believe to be a modicum of music taste I never went but reckon it was probably earlier than the dates you mention so could easily be barking up the wrong tree.

As for Radio 1 Roadshows I went to one around 1990 in Maidstone. Gary Davies was hosting and Seal mimed his way through a couple of songs. I remember Davies trying to make out to the listeners that there was a huge crowd at the event when there just wasn't. Even those that had turned up seemed thoroughly bored. I stayed for half an hour or so before disappearing into the park to drink cheap cider and tried to cop off with a girl who wasn't having any of it.
