Turkish Posted 24 July, 2011 Share Posted 24 July, 2011 me and the incumbent are looking for a couple of weeks late October in Egypt. Egypt because it appears the only place you are guarenteed decent weather that time of year, although if any of you lot know of anywhere else please shout. I take every review on Trip advisor with a pinch of salt as you get polar opposites, same hotel is everything from best one ever to worst one ever. Anyway, any word of mouth is best recomendation, so lads and lasses........

Lighthouse Posted 25 July, 2011 Share Posted 25 July, 2011 Hilton Sharks bay was pretty good. All in and pretty cheap. £350 for the week. If you just want a few beers by the pool it's perfect. Not much by way of watersports and not much of a beach, but there is a dive centre. Hotel is shared with quite a few Russians and Ukrainians, but they seemed a civilised bunch when I was there. CB Saint Posted 25 July, 2011 Share Posted 25 July, 2011 Hyatt regency is good. Excellent dive centre as well.

Agreed - been there twice. Perfect for relaxing, and great snorkelling 20 yeards of shore.
dune Posted 25 July, 2011 Share Posted 25 July, 2011 If you are looking for quality AI accomodation i'd thoroughly recomend Turkey. I didn't like the Turks much (annoying bastards hassling for a sale), but that's no different to Egypt. The biggest reason that i'd look at Turkey atm though is the exchange rate. Currently 2.66 Lira/£ (was 2.3 last October and before the recesion was around 2.5).

mdearlove Posted 25 July, 2011 Share Posted 25 July, 2011 Fort Arabesque in Makadi Bay - best stretch of beach at any hotel I have been to in Egypt. Best snorkelling beach in the resort too. Food is decent as its an Italian owned place. We were stranded there last year during the Volcano problems so got 3 weeks for the price of 2. We are a family of 5 and all the kids had a great time too. http://www.fortarabesque.com/
sambosa75 Posted 25 July, 2011 Share Posted 25 July, 2011 Went to the Hilton in Dahab last year. That was nice. The snorkelling tours from there are incredible.
