saint lard Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 Um novo sócio para Jose Fonte. Southampton alcança um £ acordo 2m com Sunderland para defensor Matt Kilgallon Southampton reach a £2m deal with Sunderland for defender Matt Kilgallon is being reported in Portugal.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 what does that say about Jose Fonte? Where did you see this?
beatlesaint Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 Well he isnt on Sunderland's tour of Germany. In fact he played for their reserves against a Spurs Res. on Friday night.
Saint Charlie Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 Is he really worth 2m? Hasn't shone anywhere for a fair while.
S-Clarke Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 Well he isnt on Sunderland's tour of Germany. In fact he played for their reserves against a Spurs Res. on Friday night. He has been told he can leave by Bruce, so this comes as no surprise. If true, the fee does though....way inflated for a player that was abysmal for Doncaster last season. I'm confident there's a good player in there (as he showed at Sheff U and Leeds) but I wouldn't pay £2m based on last seasons showing.
skintsaint Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 Sheff Utds player of the season in 2009. Struggled a bit since then and been on loan at Boro and Doncaster. 2m would be a hefty price for him.
beatlesaint Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 Is he really worth 2m? Hasn't shone anywhere for a fair while. It could mean Portugese Escudo's for all we know, just cos they put the £ sign in doesnt mean anything :-)
Window Cleaner Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 It could mean Portugese Escudo's for all we know, just cos they put the £ sign in doesnt mean anything :-) Portugal is a eurozone country right? Probably just taking the fee that Sunderland paid errr Sheffield for him as his value. not had a great time since he went to Sunderland, loans in the CCC mainly.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 Another one whose early promise was better than his recent form. If NA feels he can drag him back to form then I think that's great although 2 mill does seem a bit much.
SuperSAINT Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 Sheff Utds player of the season in 2009. Struggled a bit since then and been on loan at Boro and Doncaster. 2m would be a hefty price for him. Agree completely. Would be a relative bargain if he could hit his 2009 levels though. Only 27 too.
LeBenali Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 Would be a good aquisition - got decent pace for a centre half, and left footed, which is a bonus. Rumoured to be on pretty hefty wages though, so would have to prove his worth!
Saint Charlie Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 I think we can do better. Has been a good player but not done much for a while.
Saint_lambden Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 Would prefer a loan deal with the option to buy.
SaintNeil90 Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 He needs his confidence back. You dont become a bad player overnight. I'm sure when Bolton were about to sign a fat useless Kevin Davies they probably said they could do much better. Im sure that opinion has changed now. However £2m is way over the top considering recent form. At least Davies was a free transfer for Bolton.

Crazy Diamond Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 Would make a good addition, I've always rated him. Sunderland have spent big this season with the Man United reserve team joining them, so they probably want to reduce their deficit whilst moving out players from positions they've already strengthened. £2 million for a defender with a good record at this level is nothing if Leicester are going to spend £5 million on Mills and we're being quoted up to that on Maynard...!
saints-cris Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 If he plays like he did for Shuff Utd then hes a really good defender and Id have no problem with getting him. I would like more of a beast of a CB though, but who knows how much truth is in this one.
kwsaint Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 Based on no more than a hunch that if it is obvious to us then it will be obvious to NA and NC, I expect to hear this week that we have bought a centre-back. No idea who, and based on recent events it will be a name that none of us have posted about and will come as a surprise.
Jimmy Gabriel's Halo Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 I think we can do better. Has been a good player but not done much for a while. Would you care to expand on that by naming names ?
The Fat Controller Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 Are we sure the translation didnt mean Kilgallon plus 2million for Fonte?
Andy_Porter Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 Sunderland wouldn't want Fonte, they've got far better.
sambosa75 Posted 24 July, 2011 Posted 24 July, 2011 Sunderland wouldn't want Fonte, they've got far better. I wouldnt honestly rather have Fonte than Bramble or Anton Ferdinand. Surprised you think they have "far better".
wireframebox Posted 26 July, 2011 Posted 26 July, 2011 http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/matthew-kilgallon/mwverlaufgraph/spieler_4095.html HTH?
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 26 July, 2011 Posted 26 July, 2011 I think..has signed for QPR ! You sure you don't mean Danny Gabbidon? Can't find anything about him signing for QPR anywhere...
Crazy Diamond Posted 26 July, 2011 Posted 26 July, 2011 You sure you don't mean Danny Gabbidon? Can't find anything about him signing for QPR anywhere... Maybe he's ITK. Would be a shame if we missed out on him, as I've previously stated I do rate him.
david in sweden Posted 26 July, 2011 Posted 26 July, 2011 You sure you don't mean Danny Gabbidon? Can't find anything about him signing for QPR anywhere... you're right of course..a bit of brain fade there from me. think I've read too many transfer rumour threads this week.
