lewpylew Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 Sounds good - look forward to seeing him play in the near future : )
jamesfp1 Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 I know these vids normally make people look twice as good as they actuallly are but he does look very confident and tricky with a decent shot, very promising IMO. Hopefully the first of two signings by the end of today! We need a CB!
Hatch Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 I''ll reserve judgement on how good he is until I see him play. I know nothing about him, I'm not going to say 'wow . he looks brilliant, he wears shiney boots on youtube so he must be good' If you watch snippets of me on video, you would think 'christ , it's like Dirk Diggler' but trust me , I'm not.
Tac-tics Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 Welcome aboard, looks good! Can we pinch the number 9 in the video too?
pap Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 some interesting comments in there from NA. specifically: "From what we can see his attitude is very good and he desperately wants to maximise his potential, which is underlined by his industrious style of play. "The thing that struck me about him was that he was so hungry for success and respectful of where he is coming to. Steve wants to work hard to be part of the group of players that we have here and has bought in to the vision of where we are going. a litte dig at Oxo, me thinks I think there is every chance that this guy is a direct replacement for Chambo.
BigShadow Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 Pace, trickery and goals - not afraid to take players on - looks an exciting prospect from that youtube clip.
SuperSAINT Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 I've been looking forward to us signing our annual foreign player I've never heard of. Looks slick on youtube. Nice work Saints.
sussexsaint Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 That youtube link is class - mind you I was very impressed with the 'Rudi Skacel is a ******* goal machine' youtube. - It does raise a question about Chamberlain though, will be interesting to see who plays tomorrow
paris Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 Yes if he can produce the kind of football i've seen on You Tube we're all in for a treat...
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 Sounds very good - wonder which top flight European sides we beat to his signature?
SNSUN Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 You can't be classed as an ITK if you simply read it off another thread...
Wes Tender Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 That looks like a superb signing. His close ball control, liking to run at defenders, speed, awareness of his team mates and shooting look good on those clips. OK, so on You Tube they naturally only show the good bits, but what good bits! I'm loving the way that this got under everybodys' radar; not a sniff of it. And if several other European teams were after his signature, it does seem credible from those clips. We'll have to wait and see how he does over here in the second, but we might have unearthed a real gem.
Wes Tender Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 It only needs Amar Jemal to sign and I'd say we had the complete squad.
beavis17 Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 You can't be classed as an ITK if you simply read it off another thread... To be fair to the OP he posted this a couple of minutes after the other thread started...
SNSUN Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 It only needs Amar Jemal to sign and I'd say we had the complete squad. I agree, if this is the Puncheon replacement, but I'd still like to see another winger/striker if Oxo decides he's better than us.
The Kraken Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 It only needs Amar Jemal to sign and I'd say we had the complete squad. Considering we had the Billy Sharp episode fall through I'm not sure Adkins would agree with you. Add a striker and I think that'll be it.
saint lard Posted 22 July, 2011 Author Posted 22 July, 2011 It only needs Amar Jemal to sign and I'd say we had the complete squad. I think that is dependant on whether Oxo stays or goes.
beavis17 Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 It only needs Amar Jemal to sign and I'd say we had the complete squad. Agreed, although I still think we need another striker....someone like Delfouneso on loan would be ideal.
BJBSAINTS Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 Finally.....looks to be a decent signing if the YT clips are anything to go by?! Looks like he has pace, strength, can cross and finish pretty f****** well......if he does all of this on a regular basis I'll be happy. Well done NC
Liquidshokk Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 Pace, trickery and goals - not afraid to take players on - looks an exciting prospect from that youtube clip. Sounds like Puncheon
SNSUN Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 To be fair to the OP he posted this a couple of minutes after the other thread started... Every Second Counts presented by Paul Daniels was the greatest game show on TV, but it had a deeper meaning...

Welcome aboard the bus The Knight, all the best!
St Marco Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 It only needs Amar Jemal to sign and I'd say we had the complete squad. Yep. Defender at the back is what we need now. A pacey striker would be good too. In the clips he reminds me of Robben a little bit for some reason.
Matthew Le God Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 (edited) His squad number at De Graafschap was 11, before a conspiracy with Chamberlain starts he will be number 33 at Saints. Edited 22 July, 2011 by Matthew Le God
SFCDan Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 Quick striker/winger with a poor goal record... Belgian Forte, perhaps.
Crazy Diamond Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 I only have one concern over this, and that is I wonder just how much time and space he will have in what is a very strong and combative league. Hope he's well built in addition to his obvious technique! He looks a handful though I'll say that much, could well be a great signing. I love a flair player!
Tokyo-Saint Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 OK, MLG, I see your FM2011 (version 7.35) and raise you PES stats... http://pesstatsdatabase.com/viewtopic.php?f=101&p=268720 Don't ever play me at top trumps, I have memorised the entire pack and cannot be lose.
Jimmy_D Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 I love that this club can sign good (just from what I've seen on youtube, OS etc. hopefully he lives up to it) players out of the blue like that.

Wes Tender Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 here's his Facebook page if anybody cares to welcome him https://www.facebook.com/pages/Steve-De-Ridder/269235015466
beavis17 Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 I miss the announcement of transfer fees. We don't know much, is this guy nearer to 200k or £2m? I think the Dutch article said it was around the 1.5 million Euros mark..
SO16_Saint Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 I miss the announcement of transfer fees. We don't know much, is this guy nearer to 200k or £2m? it says in the OS report 'substantial' so i'd go for the £2M
beavis17 Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 Love the comment from Saejis saying this was the best time of his life. Hopefully we now have someone who wants to play for us and similar comments could be forthcoming.
Jimmy_D Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_De_Ridder 1M Euros according to the foreign Wiki For those interested: http://twitter.com/#!/stief87 and Wes already found his Facebook page.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 I think the Dutch article said it was around the 1.5 million Euros mark.. Think the dutch website said about 1m. Think the dutch website said about 500k. Its all double dutch to me what am i like?
