Pilchards Posted 22 July, 2011 Share Posted 22 July, 2011 Just a thought after the Matty Taylor link. We've had some quality signings from ex skates considering they have been in our shadows for so long. Quashie, Crouch & Viarafara (haha can't spell it! Who would you rate as the best and what good ex saints went onto becoming a skate? I have Channon as the only one right now.

ant Posted 22 July, 2011 Share Posted 22 July, 2011 In more recent times there's Martin Cranie who went the wrong way along the M27. Great move for him that was - got a lot of time on the pitch for the skates.
saintedwill Posted 22 July, 2011 Share Posted 22 July, 2011 Didn't Colin Clarke end up at the wrong end of the M27?

shane d Posted 22 July, 2011 Share Posted 22 July, 2011 S.C.U.M Southampton Community Union Committee, who cares what they call us. Where bigger and better than they will ever be. Went down there to watch a game once as saints were playing up north somewhere, (in the away end) Matt Robinson was playing for them and they keep giving him scummer taunts, until he scored and didn't really celebrate it, just ran back in position with the skates cheering him. supersonic Posted 22 July, 2011 Share Posted 22 July, 2011 S.C.U.M Southampton Community Union Committee. I thought it was South Coast Union of Men, or Southampton Community Union of working Men?
ericb Posted 22 July, 2011 Share Posted 22 July, 2011 I thought it was South Coast Union of Men, or Southampton Community Union of working Men? i thought the whole thing was made up by the pompey fanzine 1988 or something and they openly admitted to it, the problem being that Portsmyth followed their usual tactic of shouting about it despite having no evidence to back it up with (in fact i'm fairly sure a saints fan did some research that actually showed the strike breaking was the other way round since they were naval and not allowed to strike). They really are dirty skate ****s.
spyinthesky Posted 22 July, 2011 Share Posted 22 July, 2011 The whole strike thing was made up ironically just after Portsmouth Dockers, who were part of a South Coast port union group, broke a strike which had been called to protect Plymouth Dockers A big group of soton dockers blockaded the commercial docks in Pompey and police had to intervene to protect the Pompey men Sam Charles, the brother of Bob Charles, was one of the Soton Dockers arrested think this may have been late 70's, early 80's
