Having moved away actually have to agree re Heinz Ketchup (or any Supermarket derivatives) Over here we have Kimball Ketchup. Now that works. We also have about 6 different versions of Chilli Ketchup type products - heaven with Mushrooms BUT another derivative that I absolutely hate - Thai Sweet Chilly Sauce from a bottle. Argh

It amazes me that other people are so keen to smother almost any meal with it. I'm with you on the tomato ketchup - vile stuff. I also hate custard (and therefore trifle), plus pretty much any milk pudding. If we're doing drinks too, then advocaat is awful, and the smell of Red Bull is so nauseating I can't even imagine trying it. Now I think of it, I can't stand kidney, but I love liver - especially pig's liver. Hamster - cook rabbit slowly in a white wine and chicken stock sauce with onions, garlic, mushrooms and marjoram. Finish it off with mustard and double cream. Yum.

Gorgiesaint Posted 20 July, 2011 Share Posted 20 July, 2011 (edited) BBQ sauce - wtf is that all about? Oh and while we're on things American, can anyone tell me why grits were invented? I've yet to find anyone (including any Americans I know) who know why they eat them. If I wanted to make my semolina taste like it's got sand in it then I'd cook it with sand in - but I don't! Window Cleaner Posted 21 July, 2011 Share Posted 21 July, 2011 Sprouts. Cabbage. Brocoli. Cauliflower. Swede. Not exactly cut out to be a vegitarian, but I do like spinach. I like swede but if a vegetable is dark green I am definitely not it's biggest fan. However I really really don't like eggs other than scrambled which I may or may not eat if there's absolutely nothing else. Now I remember Taunton's canteen on about my 3rd or 4th day there, hard-boiled egg on the menu with sloppy mash, told the old hag that I didn't eat either of those thing but she made me try, puked on the table and over a couple of my co-detainees,end of my school lunch experience, had sandwiches after that until I was allowed to cycle to my Gran's at lunchtime a couple of years later.
