I'm not too fussy either, but love all of those you think 'orrible except the Gherkins which are first thing to go from a burger on the rare occasion I buy them... but not if I'm really hungry.

My top 'orrible foods are...

Butternut Squash

Marrow

Cauliflower

Celery

Rocket leaves (Absolute Yuk)

I cannot believe someone dislikes Parsnips - roasted until almost crunchy with a Roast... Yum.

One that (co-incidentally) came up today, pal came back from Sri Lanka & brought....

Mango & Banana Flavoured Cashew Nuts.

Barf

Otherwise - Spaghetti Bolgnaise just hate it

The thought of eating rabbit was abhorent until two weeks ago, first time, loved it so much I'm gonna cook a rabbit pie myself soon.

Where's the best place to buy a rabbit, butchers or pet shop?

Actually, Maltese stewed rabbit is disgusting.

Braised in red wine however, that's another story!

Another pet hate I have:

Custard. Disgusting stuff.

I'm one of the few people in the world who can not abide tomato ketchup.

F'ing revolting stuff!

It amazes me that other people are so keen to smother almost any meal with it.

My Brother-In-Law has Tommy K on a roast. I want to headbutt the Wally when he does it in front of me. Although I am a Tommy K fan, do not insult a full roast with that shizzle.

Having moved away actually have to agree re Heinz Ketchup (or any Supermarket derivatives)

Over here we have Kimball Ketchup. Now that works. We also have about 6 different versions of Chilli Ketchup type products - heaven with Mushrooms

BUT another derivative that I absolutely hate - Thai Sweet Chilly Sauce from a bottle. Argh

I'm with you on the tomato ketchup - vile stuff. I also hate custard (and therefore trifle), plus pretty much any milk pudding. If we're doing drinks too, then advocaat is awful, and the smell of Red Bull is so nauseating I can't even imagine trying it. Now I think of it, I can't stand kidney, but I love liver - especially pig's liver.

Hamster - cook rabbit slowly in a white wine and chicken stock sauce with onions, garlic, mushrooms and marjoram. Finish it off with mustard and double cream. Yum.

BBQ sauce - wtf is that all about? Oh and while we're on things American, can anyone tell me why grits were invented? I've yet to find anyone (including any Americans I know) who know why they eat them. If I wanted to make my semolina taste like it's got sand in it then I'd cook it with sand in - but I don't!

Peanut butter, grapefruit, coriander cloves liver. Pecan pie. Unpicked beetroot, anchovies :(

I don't get olives,dairylea and cheese string..!

And I forgot stinking bishop cheese. I love my cheeses but people keep buying and offering me this foul claggy cheese with nothing going for it on looks, taste, texture or smell!

On the subject of 'orrible foods - Phil's cremated BBQ's Steaks

Aren't on the list

I'll be keeping an eye on my own just in case!!

You mentioned Mangoes earlier - I was thinking about making a small Mango Fool or Mousse for dessert - are you both okay with that or shall I get a Plan B ?

Anything from those cheap conveyor-belt 'restaurants'....Beefeater, Harvester, Brewers Fayre, Hungry Horse, etc - you know the ones...a Pompey supporting friend may have dragged you to one once as a "one step up from McDonalds" special treat.

Sprouts.

Cabbage.

Brocoli.

Cauliflower.

Swede.

Not exactly cut out to be a vegitarian, but I do like spinach.

I like swede but if a vegetable is dark green I am definitely not it's biggest fan.

However I really really don't like eggs other than scrambled which I may or may not eat if there's absolutely nothing else.

Now I remember Taunton's canteen on about my 3rd or 4th day there, hard-boiled egg on the menu with sloppy mash, told the old hag that I didn't eat either of those thing but she made me try, puked on the table and over a couple of my co-detainees,end of my school lunch experience, had sandwiches after that until I was allowed to cycle to my Gran's at lunchtime a couple of years later.
