Season Tickets

S, they are printed books that start at voucher 9, the first 8 have not been ripped out

Yeah just checked mine and that's correct, mine starts at match 9 with none ripped out. Luckily for the club otherwise you'd have some who got a full one 1-23 ripping out the first 8 vouchers, flogging them to mates and then claiming a new ST. We could have got 40,000ish against Leeds!!

I can see big queues at the box office at Saturday's tournament with fans trying to get them replaced. Just getting mates to check theirs.

Just spoke to the ticket office and they have a rouge box! I have been told to return them and then they will send out a complete set staright away - you can return them freepost too lol

Much easier on the eye than the usual brown ones. ;)

Incidentally, the club are on to this, I've just got an email from "Liela" (I think that was it) at SFC saying to call the TO if you've got the wrong ones.

I emailed the TO yesterday and have not received a reply. Looks like I will be joining the queue on Saturday.

I really don't understand why they have not made the concession vouchers a different colour, to prevent adults using the free U11 ones.

Recieved mine today, all games 1 - 23 there. Relief after hearing others problems. For me a stress free transaction, bought on line, asked to be posted, and all done as i had hoped. Renewal, paid in full, so perhaps i am one of the lucky ones who can't fault the ticket office.

Well that wouldn't work because once it's torn out it becomes void anyway. A steward on the turnstile wouldn't let you in if you had the ticket stub and not the booklet.

I agree they'd probably tighten up on it if that scenario had come about but not once did I tear it out in front of a steward last season and got in every time without question - many just tear it out while queueing and with a few minutes to kick-off they're just eager to get everyone in I guess.

Apart from the hundreds of times they have.

The problem the club has here is that they can't possibly know who they've sent the wrong tickets to, so they can't address the solution in a way which doesn't end up with them giving out loads of free tickets.

Anyone who has a full ST could claim to have only got 9-23, and there's no way of knowing which doesn't involve putting the onus on people to come back to the TO, costing them to address an error made by the club.

Oh, wait a minute, we don't do customer service any more, that's exactly what they're going to do.

"Anyone with a 9-23 ST should come to the TO to return their booklet, replacements will not be issued by post, etc. PS we're hiking the car park charge to £5 for what will be your 3rd ST-based visit of the summer".

Edit: Following from exit2's comments, it appears the club DO still have a vague grasp of customer service, so can we send anything to the club Freepost, and how are they going to deal with the obvious flaw, i.e. People claiming to have sent it back and then not doing so? Suppose that's the case with all "missing tickets", but no-one's going to slap DUPLICATE on every voucher, are they?

Freepost isn't trackable though, is it? I'm just going to cut out the chance of anything else going wrong and drop it into the TO on Sunday :|

That said I'm one of the 'lucky' ones since I live in the city - if I was coming from further afield I'd put in a cheeky request for the petrol money. I don't believe that the fans should have to put themselves out of pocket to rectify a mistake made by the club. Whatever level of service you expect, there's got to be culpability for a cock-up of this nature.

I had to miss 4 games last season took tickets out of book and gave them my mate so he could bring his daughter, she got in with no problem.

Spoke to someone down at SMS yesterday and I think it would be fair to say the bloke sounded somewhat harassed!!!! so not sure how widespread this issue is.

Told me he would send a new Season Ticket in the post that afternoon, so will see if a new one has arrived when I get home (so presume I will end up with 1 full one and 1 with games 9-23 on - good job I'm an honest person and will rip the original one up!!!!!!).

Brilliant. So for all the hoop-jumping fans have been made to go through to avoid the possibility of abuse of the system, we're quite possibly in a worse position than last year?

Hats off to SFC; you couldn't make it up.

Right... Just got off of the phone with the ticket enquiries line (the 0845 6889288 number rather than the sales one). I'd barely finished telling the woman on the other end what had happened before she apologised. Apparently they're trying to work out which was the dodgy batch but in the meantime are laboriously phoning through everybody that's bought one to check whether they've been affected.

She asked me to destroy my current booklet and said there'll be a full one on its way in the post today. Seems reasonable in terms of how little effort I had to put in, but I can see a few problems arising if people don't destroy their old booklets. Or if there's a few chancers they phone who claim theirs is incorrect when it isn't. Cynical I know, but not impossible.

Pretty big cock-up in all. Glad I've got mine sorted, but looking at the bigger picture this could give the club headaches all season. Do you think there might be some kind of verification process before they send the tickets out next year?

So there we have it; the system is much more open to abuse than last year. Brilliant work SFC.

And now some poor bastard has to work through making 12,000 phone calls! Well done indeed.

It is indeed good to know we are such a much more professionally run business now than we ever used to be and all the lay-abouts and wasters that used to work for the club have been replaced. Perhaps we can make reversed call charges to the 12,000 people and generate even more revenue.

ffs just received 3 season tickets, all 9-23 aswell.

think we should all get a freebie for having to go down and sort it out...

As I said above, give them a ring on 0845 6889288 and you'll be sorted in 2 minutes tops.

Just Found out this has happened to my father also,he phoned and they said post the ticket back.I do believe he is going to travel to the ticket office however.

Apparently this has been a common balls up with the tickets according to the woman at the ticket office my father spoke too.

When I phoned I was told to send them back and when they received them they would post the correct book which in the light of the IDs required etc sounds more like it. I went down this afternoon to the TO and exchanged the book. I received one ticket ok but the other missing vouchers.

Just got out of bed and in the post is another full season ticket!!!!

I am now the proud owner of three season tickets (even if one is only games 9-23)!!!!

We really are the opposite of Poopey aren't we. They charge several times for one season ticket, whereas we charge once for several season tickets.

Sounds like a printer's error on one particular batch. The club really shouldn't need to check someone else's work for every ticket - it's a big enough job as it is - and the tickets may well have been despatched direct from the printers anyway.

I suspect that next year some other firm will be doing the job...

Someone has suggested that those who have paid in installments will first be getting a book with games 1-8 in and then a second covering 9-23 when they have paid the final installments.

If so, it looks as though a number of us "paid in full" season ticket holders have been given the wrong book.

Just wonder how widespread it is and whether people even realise??? I certainly wouldn't have looked unless I had seen this thread and have let others know. Two had put there's straight in the draw and only found the first 8 games were missing when I told them!!!!

Of 6 mates who I know have got them half are missing so far, not a big sample granted but does seem like a lot have the wrong ones, bit of a cock up.

What an absolute shambles. It seems that the paranoia that a couple of people might default on their direct debits has caused this mess. Dear oh Dear.

I would say the cause is a cock-up of someone labelling a batch incorrectly, but you can draw that ridiculously remote conclusion if you want.

Putting a whole new emphasis on 'half-season' tickets.

Got my half-book of ticket vouchers yesterday, rang the TO and complained.

Got the whole whack by this morning's post with instructions to destroy the cocked-up edition.

I'm all ready for the action, so let battle commence

not really, the tickets with some removed are for direct debit payers, who will recieve 8 then the rest when they have paid up the full amount by November. If they had just issued them i full like they used to no need for labels or arsing about. Fan wants season ticket, fan gets season ticket, simple.

It is somewhat ironic that in an effort to reduce the "fraudulent" use of season tickets, the revised system has probably put hundreds of duplicates in to the system.

Can someone explain to me what the issues are about defaulting on an installment ST? I don't see how it's any different from purchasing anything and setting up a direct debit to pay for it. All the club need to do is ask for 2 types of ID and proof of address, then take the apporiate legal action should the DD get cancelled.

The appropriate legal action. Don't be silly. Complete waste of time and money. The appropriate remedy is to withdraw the ticket, which this system allows.

There is nothing inherently wrong with the system. It is a good system. The problem appears to be that some numpty has incorrectly labelled a batch.

OK - I renewed on-line. The only option was collection from ticket office so I am surprised to see here that people are getting theirs delivered (albeit with cock-ups). I wonder why I didn't have the option to have it delivered or was that a default position in the on-line screen? In relation to the amount of money being spent, I am not too impressed with the matter TBH.

Mine were replaced with another book with games 1 to 8 included. Sheepish grin and no apology.

Next joke the letter sent for those with parking to renew has the wrong telephone number - the one included is for Banana Wharf restaurant. Oh dear.
