Cestrian Saint Posted 21 July, 2011 Posted 21 July, 2011 Had a go, not a fan of it: I'm loving this. Fits with the rumour I've heard about Black and Yellow and all the 'Buzzing' comments that have been circulated.
The Kraken Posted 21 July, 2011 Posted 21 July, 2011 Hope it's not any of those mock ups; they're nice enough in their own right but I cannot find anything about them to identify SFC. The ideal away kit for me is based on the 1976 FA Cup kit. If not that, the old dark blue / light blue Rank Xerox kit. Anything else just disinterests me.
funkymojo44 Posted 21 July, 2011 Posted 21 July, 2011 No you haven't, you've just nicked that exact image from the UI Forum ! No i heard it on another forum...
itchen_dan Posted 21 July, 2011 Posted 21 July, 2011 Looks a bit like Young Boys. Maybe it's to help the alleged new signing adapt and not get homesick?

That's boring IMO.
100%Red&White Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 So, it will be "just like watching Brazil" then!
The9 Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 No i heard it on another forum... Probably based on the image the UI used for their article about it !
The Kraken Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 Why does it have to be based on an old one? That's boring IMO. You may find it boring; I'd suggest Umbro are enjoying an enormous amount of revenues right now for basing their entire product range on previous (old) kits.
Saint Garrett Posted 22 July, 2011 Author Posted 22 July, 2011 Everyone loves a good old retro shirt !
The9 Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 I was hoping for a Brazil kit. I'm hoping for something other than that.
The9 Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 Why does it have to be based on an old one? That's boring IMO. Most retro kits are plain designs, if there's one thing you can guarantee about "new" designs, which are invariably pointlessly over-graphical, it's that a lot more people will actively dislike them and won't buy them, compared to something that looks classic and harkens back to previous years. The reasons last season's kit was such a success was that it had a classic, plain, yet still unique look, as well as being the ultimate Saints throwback (and no sponsor). The away shirt had no sponsor, but also no history and looked like a training kit, and no-one's talking about how many sales records it broke because they couldn't shift them.
alpine_saint Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 Had a go, not a fan of it: I'm loving this. Fits with the rumour I've heard about Black and Yellow and all the 'Buzzing' comments that have been circulated. I like that, similar to my prediction though I had the black and yellow in the shirt the opposite way.
alpine_saint Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 Had a go, not a fan of it: They all look quite good
Saint Garrett Posted 22 July, 2011 Author Posted 22 July, 2011 Not sure I like the black and Yellow on them. Or stripes for that matter...Would rather see ir nearly all yellow with blue trim on multiple places.
funkymojo44 Posted 22 July, 2011 Posted 22 July, 2011 Barnard mentioned the away kit in one of the latest new items. He said 'fans would be pleasantly surprised' - i think he's referring to the fact that at least one version of our kit for this season still has a sash. Makes sense - one off anniversary shirt with high profile sash, bit of change going back to the stripes which the main site refer to several times. Kinda fits the club re-introduce the sash design as an away shirt in different colours....
alehouseboys Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 I was hoping for a Brazil kit. Then your wish is granted...ish (Red trim instead of green)
Badger Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 Then your wish is granted...ish (Red trim instead of green) how are you itk on this ?, or is it guesswork ?
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 This, reversed colours with a saints badge. I like this.
saint lard Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 Will be spoilt dramatically with the Aap3 logo, otherwise very nice. The sash needs to be continuous to have the desired effect, imo.
MAY-Z Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 Will be spoilt dramatically with the Aap3 logo, otherwise very nice. The sash needs to be continuous to have the desired effect, imo. or you could always put the aap logo along the slash like my sanfl team does http://www.safooty.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28373
The Cat Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 Alehouseboys is right. I've seen the kit. Yellow shirt, red sponsor logo, blue shorts.
Saint Billy Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 Couldn't our away kit be last years home kit, red sash on white etc?
SO16_Saint Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 Alehouseboys is right. I've seen the kit. Yellow shirt, red sponsor logo, blue shorts. Plain yellow?
Nexstar Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 Couldn't our away kit be last years home kit, red sash on white etc? I think the reason behind an away kit has passed you by.
Saint Billy Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 I think the reason behind an away kit has passed you by. Just replace the red sash with a light blue one then picky
The Cat Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 Plain yellow? There's some blue around the collar, but other than that it's yellow. A simple design but quite nice.
Nexstar Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 Just replace the red sash with a light blue one then picky And change the colour of the rest of the kit...
Cestrian Saint Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 Yellow and Blue again. How unimaginative. I don't want to see blue on any Saints kit!
Badger Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 Yellow and Blue again. How unimaginative. I don't want to see blue on any Saints kit! Hope it is not, and agree its unimaginative.Worn by every other club since the 1970's at some stage or other.
alpine_saint Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 How come we can come up with better ideas than the club / Umbro ?
djharvey Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 Yellow and Blue again. How unimaginative. I don't want to see blue on any Saints kit! Theres blue in the club crest!
astrasri Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 I hope there are good photo's of it when it is released - I don't want to be caught out again after changing my mind about the home kit
krissyboy31 Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 I feel yellow & blue= saints Not for us old enough to remember Gold and Black!
doggface Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 I would be open to gold & black soon, but for us fans & opposition who have never seen it will automatically shout wolves. Yellow & blue is tied to us like the ribbons on the fa cup.
Saint Lindford Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 Yellow shirt and yellow shorts, that will be the new away kit.
SaintNeil90 Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 So still nobody actually knows what it looks like but some are implying they have.
The9 Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 Here's the weird thing, I'm at St Marys and the new grey training tops have what appears to be a yellow sponsor logo with red trim - if it follows that we're only using sponsor logos that are in use elsewhere that doesn't seem to support the idea that the away kit is predominantly yellow. Seems strange as they could use the White/black home kit badges perfectly well.

Its black on the home kit, yellow on the training kit, whose to say it wont be red on the away kit?
Giamlarrahan Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 He just admitted he was looking at last season's *facepalm*
Essruu Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 It's yellow, same neck as home shirt in blue, red aap logo. If anyone wants to see it before the 7pm game tonight, it's hanging on the wall in a frame in reception at the stadium!
The9 Posted 23 July, 2011 Posted 23 July, 2011 Lol. Well, they just announced on the tannoy that it's pre-order from 27th July, on-sale date is 4th August. Also worth noting that the players warming up will show off the socks and shorts a good half hour before the kick off of the Bilbao match.
