Jack Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Dislike, especially the long sleeved version. Can't put my finger on it but there's something that doesn't look right to me.
Cestrian Saint Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 I hate striped football shirts. They're so stripey. Why couldn't we stick to the traditional plain green shirt that we're so well known for?
Saint Garrett Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Extra video of it on SaintsPlayer apparently.
Cestrian Saint Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Dislike, especially the long sleeved version. Can't put my finger on it but there's something that doesn't look right to me. Hmmm, there's something not quite right. The more I look at it the more I think it's that yellow Umbro badge. It should be white.... Tippex!
Pancake Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 anti climax much. 'twas akin to finding out you hadnt been hit by a train.
paris Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Yes a very modern kit , with the white sleeves...nice to see the R & W stripes back...
Saint Charlie Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Its a football shirt, its quite nice, surely not that much of a big deal?
alpine_saint Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Its OK. It does the job, I suppose. Lack of innovation possible with red-and-white stripes, probably. At least the sponsor logo isnt so dominant. I personally enjoyed last years delve into out history, and would have liked the same again, maybe quarters or Rank Xerox.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Not a bad effort Saints, a solid 7/10. Here is hoping the away kit is yellow and blue stripes
sussexsaint Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Its on the last page Ralph Like the collar, hope there is no large red patch with the number on it like Sunderland did Would be nice to have a sash on the away kit, I like the stripes but I'm missing the sash already
sambosa75 Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Really like the short sleeved version. Anyone who pays extra for long sleeves is a mongtard anyway.
Jack Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Not a bad effort Saints, a solid 7/10. Here is hoping the away kit is yellow and blue stripes As long as there's yellow in it, that'll do me
The9 Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Hopefully yellow Almost certainly yellow given the colour of the logos on the home kit, which wouldn't be there for any other reason - those black home shorts will go with it too then. Interesting choice of boring red socks with white turnovers - I already have a pair of those from Sunderland's kit last season.
ralph_wiggum Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 bloody typical, work computer not displaying it, all other pics on thread are there... and os is blocked aaaaaaarrrrggggh!
alpine_saint Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 I just looked at the vid on Saints Player (why is it all jittery almost subliminal shots of the kit ???). I do NOT like the shoulders from behind. Looks like a patchwork quit.
The9 Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 bloody typical, work computer not displaying it, all other pics on thread are there... and os is blocked aaaaaaarrrrggggh! If you're on Facebook it's there on the Official saints page too.
Hatch Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 bloody typical, work computer not displaying it, all other pics on thread are there... and os is blocked aaaaaaarrrrggggh! but with white sleeves and white shoulders and a badge here and there.
The9 Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 All this time for that?! Its basically the same as the Huddersfield kit. An air florida kit style would have better with thin red stripes in the white patch (similar to the advert for this season kit release) It's basically got a decent collar which only 2 other clubs have and no-one has for their home kit, and contrast cuffs which none of the other striped shirt templates have.
sussexsaint Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Just watch the video of the photo shoot on saints player and its a stripey back , someone asked if it was all white
djharvey Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Plain white back? No, its striped but with white shoulders.
Crab Lungs Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Looks very Athletic Bilbao, actually. Anyway, it's quite nice... hate red socks though!
alpine_saint Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 No, its striped but with white shoulders. Does not work well, imo.
The9 Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Nice back shot trousers - could be a lot worse, the Sunderland kit has pointless diagonal stripes where we have a plain white bit, and I was half expecting a plain white back. I like it a lot, any pics of the sides of the shorts, they appear to be black with black trim up the side... that yellow's a dead giveaway for the away kit though, yellow or gold with red and black I should think.
Saint J 77 Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 It looks ok. I think the short sleeve design looks better than the long sleeve version.
sussexsaint Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 would look better with black socks I think as well
Our Claus Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 I am even happier than I thought I would be to see us in stripes again. Looks like a pretty good design as well.
Golden Balls Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 That picture is awful! Clearly the long sleeves don't look as good but they put that at the front. The short look grey. Fonte looks like he's on crack and Lallana isn't looking at the camera. However, looks a lot better in the video.
Soggy Bottom Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 I hope the away isn't stripes I might buy it then.
xerox Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 just another football kit really, does not look like a saints kit for some reason, maybe the white sleeves? do not like the collar or the socks. was hoping for something i would want to buy but i will be keeping my wallet in my pocket this time but will wait till i see it in the flesh first but i prefer the traditional look when it comes to kits, modern additions like daft collars look naf.
xerox Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 also a missed opportunity to return to navy blue shorts which would have made our kit different, oh well...
ant Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Very smart that, like that shirt a lot. Wasn't sure if I was a fan of the collar initially, but on second inspection I think it works well. Only thing I'm unsure about is that the shorts look like tarpaulin!
trousers Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 any pics of the sides of the shorts, they appear to be black with black trim up the side... .
Mmm Donuts Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Mmmm not sure, won't be getting one, number 1 son will though.
The Kraken Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Not really a fan. Too much white, and I think the collar looks dreadful. Still, I wasn't going to buy it anyway, so meh. 5/10 for design awards though.
Lighthouse Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Like the short sleave version although, as a few others have said, the sleaves on the long sleave version are a bit 'too much white'. Will probably buy.
