The highlights are not that high a quality (but they are working at that so it seems) and for £4.29 a month it's pretty good for us exiles. Having radio solent commentary out of area is superb for away games/home cup ties. It can only however be a stop-gap until actual live game video streaming is available.

To be fair to them, that's more to do with the feed they take from Solent, rather than anything they're doing wrong. They are reliant that the link stays up at the away ground etc (we'll hopefully not have that problem in the championship!)

Very useful if you are abroad for an extended period of time or live overseas as you cannot really access commentary anywhere else...being back in the UK, will I renew? No, I don't really see the point when I have access to decent highlights on BBC for free.

Fair enough, but if you rarely get to see a live match you would get a much better idea of our players nuances and characteristics by watching the extended highlights on Player than on the 20 seconds you get on the BBC.

We get virtually no coverage of anything outside of the Premiership here on TV, although one of the new channels will be showing Championship games. I will still subscribe though as I think some of the interviews and stuff they do a great. Been really impressed with the close season stuff this year. Far better than last year. Like others say though I am looking forward to when they do live streaming of video

With the dodgy internet connections here the videos take a while to load anyway, sometimes not at all. Now it'll be virtually impossible to watch. Oh well, not many other people will have that problem so it's obviously still an improvement to the service. The commentary is vital though, so I'll be renewing. ant Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 The extended highlights alone are worth that much (apart from the abysmal overlaid 'commentary'), but you get a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff too. Was pleasantly surprised with how much was made available from the Swiss tour.

It's almost like you're watching it live.

For me this makes it an essential purchase. It really shows how good it is when compared to the 1 minute / 1 angle effort we get from the away games.

Remember how difficult it was to get any Saints coverage when we got relegated from the Prem. Last year, I got to see more Saints footage than ever before, and we were in league one. I'd recommend it to any Saints fan.

Most games don't actually have 10-15 minutes of "highlights", so all that ends up happening is you get even more replays from even more obscure angles of the highlights you'd already seen. The best feature of the whole thing - assuming it's still there, I've not had a subscription for a few years - is the archive where you can go back and watch highlights from games that took place years ago.
