Looks like Chambo's staying THEN!!

SOTONS EAST SIDE

If we could keep hold of Chamberlain it would be a massive statement of intent. He is without doubt one of the best young talents in English football and he is only going to get better.

He is such an exciting player to watch and can produce that bit of magic to help us back to the premier league. Fonte, Lallana, Lambert, Cork and Chamberlain would walk into almost any team in this league along with a few others in my opinion.

This current squad will surprise a lot of people in this league and the momentum and winning mentality combined with the buzz about the club at the moment should see us challenging in the top 6.

Ever since I can remember other clubs have always thought they can just help themselves to our best players and it has really hurt in the past as these players have been sold.

I applaud cortese for throwing the fax offer straight in the bin in January and refusing to sell. If he can manage to keep hold of him even for another season the message that would send to our supporters and to other clubs would be loud and clear.

The value of Chamberlain is almost certain to increase over time as I firmly believe he will continue to improve and become an even better player as he develops. If the worst does happen at some stage and we sell him the price is likely to be more than it is now maybe a lot more.

It will be sad if we ever do have to sell Chamberlain but the blow will be softened if at that point he has helped put us back in the premier league.

Come on Alex please stay with us, surely helping a team to another promotion and the buzz of that has got to be better than playing for Arsenal reserves. If you have decided you want to move to a so called bigger club do it in a year or two when you have shown your talent here week in week out and can walk into another clubs first team and not get lost as just another squad player.

Yeah, I know a lot of people have already said what a great post this was, but really. When someone sums up a situation as well as this post, then it should get all the praise it deserves, if only to balance out all the twaddle that normally gets posted here.

makes sence! he's a young gangster chav! which love golf gti kitted up! + a 07 plate golf aint gonna be that cheap? also he just passed his test so he needs to get his 1 years no claims? did your son see what cd's he had left laying around? 2 pac? usher? neyo?

if chambo listened to 2pac maybe he took inspiration from him his song dear mamma, maybe chambo listened to that in his car and thought i listen to momma not dad and stay at saints ;)

in seriousness 2pac is the best artist from the 90s,with chambo staying it sounds like great news it would be silly at 18 moving to the prem without at least 6 months championship football under your belt and sit on the bench without playing when you can play most weeks for a team hoping to give the playoffs a shot.

No lies here, SES was telling the truth:

From his Facebook, although he says he is getting rid of it in a month for a new car.

This doesn't actually prove anything other than how easy it is to find out what car he drives, (assuming it's the real AOC's Facebook account).

Probably but the main thing here is the price tag. £1 million for a lad with 6 full internationals on the counter, albeit for Costa Rica and 8/10/12 million for

another lad with half a season in League 1 to his name.

Just on 5 live now the Leeds chief scout on a scouting programme. Said he was at Saints v WBA the other night, obviously checking us out. He said that when Chamberlain got injured a couple of Scouts he knows from big clubs got up and walked out. Doesn't add anything to the Chamberlain story but interesting anyway.

If you are attending a match to watch a particular player, and that player becomes injured and plays no further part in the game, it is fair to say that there is little point in remaining at the match.........

Something i've always wondered. Can you refuse entry to rival team's scouts? Or is there a gentlemens agreement to let them in throughout the fotball leagues?

Obviously you couldn't stop them buying tickets but i've always been of the impression that they always end up in the hopsitality areas.

Pretty sure there's a rule that, if you're due to play a particular team, you have to make some tickets available for your previous one or two home games to those opponents.

As for general scouting, it would be a huge own goal to ban scouts in an effort to "hide" your own players. They, in turn, would ban your scouts and instantly you'd have no scouting network.

My uncle is a scout for West Brom and he's never been refused complimentary access to my knowledge. As The Kraken says, the system pretty much survives on an open door "gentleman's agreement" basis (unless there's any FA rules that underpin the system that I'm not aware of. I'll ask him next time I see him)
