Saint-scooby Posted 18 July, 2011 Posted 18 July, 2011 Ok my daughter picked this virus up some time ago, its blocked all of the available scans etc, I can get to safe mode but thats about it. Any advise ?? ps Thanks in advance x
Smirking_Saint Posted 18 July, 2011 Posted 18 July, 2011 Get the PC in safe mode then run Malware Bytes and search and destroy That should get the little f*cker. And tell her to stop looking at the rude stuff.
Saint-scooby Posted 18 July, 2011 Author Posted 18 July, 2011 Nope wont let me run the scan, keeps going to their fake pop up......

Smirking_Saint Posted 18 July, 2011 Posted 18 July, 2011 I forgot, you have to disable the process that runs as this little b*stard, I used a programme called Rkill that disabled it long enough for me to start a scan. However, if I was you I would follow this link, it should be a lot easier then the way I did it, in the explanation anyway. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-total-security
trousers Posted 18 July, 2011 Posted 18 July, 2011 I recently had a virus that was 'clever' enough to disable and/or intercept any attempt to run malware removal software (malwarebytes and the like) I ended up creating a rescue disk on another PC - available free from Kaspersky website - and booting up on that. It has an integral virus checker which did the business.
saint_stevo Posted 18 July, 2011 Posted 18 July, 2011 I'll cleanse it, service it and return it to you in full working order for the saintly figure of £20. PM me if you want

saint_stevo Posted 20 July, 2011 Posted 20 July, 2011 Last nights scan revealed 132 trojans/worms/adware/spyware. Another scan to go tonight and then a tidy up Impressive stuff!
Saint-scooby Posted 20 July, 2011 Author Posted 20 July, 2011 Not bad I think the old limewire had something to offer for everyone.
