Stern And Bart On Their Way

Recommended Posts

I was supportive of lowe's decision to radically reduce costs when he returned. which didn't mean that i am a 'lowe-luvvy'. the club would be better served if he f@cked off and never darkened our doorstep again. but he was correct to cut out the fat. however, loaning the only player we have who knows how to consistently score goals is not cutting fat it is cutting deep into the muscle tissue and bones. Absolutely appaling decision. Lowe, you are a ***t. And i bet he is still drawing a fat salary. if he didn't get his salary then there would be money available to pay stern. I am happy to retract these comments if someone can prove that Lowe is doing the job for free but i think we all know he is not. If he really cared about the club he would for go his salary. He is just a money-grubbing little sh!t.

Stern John has scored one league cup goal for us this season.

He's played about 5 whole games for one poxy goal against Rotherham when we had already lost. He is not a miracle goal scorer this season.

League appearances:

69 minutes vs Birmingham

6 minutes vs Derby

23 minutes vs Blackpool

53 minutes vs Ipswich

5 Minutes vs Barnsley

13 Minutes vs Doncaster

88 Minutes vs Sheffield United

He's not had anywhere near enough game time to prove himself yet.

think you are probably right. Unfortunately without the facts which we are never given we can only make a football decision -which would be he is a benefit to the squad.

If it was as drastic as the saving and any loan fee is saving us from administration then of course he was to go. Doubt it is that black and white though

Haven't had time to read through all the posts so apologies if this has already been asked.....

....but....

How can someone who was a make-weight in Kenwyn Jones' transfer be on an unaffordable wage?

Beggars belief

good point, but then at the moment paying someone £1,000 per week can't be afforded.

So let me get this straight in my little brain.

JP more or less admits that the addition of the experienced, older players on Tuesday night, among them Stern John, helped in no small way get us a much unexpected point.

48 hours later Lowe loans him to Bristol City therefore taking away one of the few experienced players we have.

I think I can see your cunning plan Baldrick, sorry Rupert....................

Clueless, totally clueless ego maniac Lowe.

For the first time ever I will defend Lowe here.....this is nothing to do with Lowe.....Saints are in financial straits....Barclays are in financial straits.....Stern John being offloaded is a relatively small piece of the jigsaw at what is the beginning of the end game.....

If Southampton Football Club is in existence in it's current guise at the end of the season I will eat Mary Corbett's cat

Let's hope Lowe doesn't get more than £52k per year then ;)

we both know that lowe is getting considerably more than £52k. i heard it was more like £200k. which would be a complete disgrace and he should swing from the itchen bridge if he is robbing the club to that tune and letting go our experienced players because we can't pay them. lead by example lowe.

Maybe JP broke ranks on Wednesday night.

Maybe he broke some standing instructions about who to play.

Maybe that is why Stern John has left today.

This theory, that Lowe is getting rid of players that could do a decent job for us - but break his cost/wage/playing cheap youth principles - to prevent JP from picking them (let's face it, the mid-week performance left it difficult for the older players to be dropped), would be reinforced if a couple of other deals magically materialise (i.e. Skacel)

I am wondering if JP has had a bust up with Lowe because he can no longer do the job under the constraints imposed on him, and on Wednesday thought "f*ck it", and Lowe is acting to prevent a repeat.

Gutted that SJ has definitely gone on loan. Why did we get Gasmi and Pulis and can afford to pay their wages when they are both injured yet cant pay someone who is able to win a game for us.

a question which is constantly being ignore by those who support Ruperts every decision, you also forgot to add Forecast, Peckhart, Smith and Robertson.

Stern John has never really been given a chance this season and I am sure JP would like to have continued playing him insread of Robertson Pekhart Smith Pulis OR Gasmi.

On most games John has been overlooked for The Mighty Mac...There in lies another story.

All these stupid loans for players who could not hack it elsewhere, yet we get rid of a good pro who could do the job if given the chance.

Not great news, but how many league goals has SJ got this season? Hardly the nail in Saints coffin this season.

Feel free to post the same stats for McGoaldrought.....

You hear what you want to hear, don't belive everything you hear from 'blokes down the pub"' it'll probably lead you into serious trouble one day.

so what? He is a company director of a PLC. the level of his renumeration has to be made freely available. I didn't hear it down the pub. Don't assume i did. Assumption only makes and ASS out of U and ME. Are you some kind of a Lowe supporter then? Do you think he should be taking even a solitary penny out of the club at the moment? I don't.

stupid argument he has hardly played more than a total of four games' date=' based on length of time on pitch[/quote']

And where was he last Saturday when we needed his "experience" to convert 2 penalties.

Ahh yes he was "tired" after swanning about in the Caribbean and playing a few

minutes against an already qualified US side.

I don't doubt whatever happened last weekend sealed his fate at Southampton FC. We just can't afford non-performers that's all.

More likely that Lowe said you can have John or Skacel, but not both.

I was thinking along similar lines earlier, I hope it isn't like this and it's more JP has loaned out Stern to bring in some money to afford a couple of loan deals.

Nope I support Southampton FC, as I have done for 45 years or more.

I just don't believe getting on the back of people who I don't know, spouting

facts that I have no basis for and generally being a moaning minny when I need to get behind the club in whatever shape or form it happens to be in at the moment.

And the source for this gem if you please?

Don't tell me,let me guess, it's from either the Daily Mirror or an internet forum right?

You know its true and you can always prove me wrong as you seem to know so much about your fiends at the club. Sorry..freinds.

I will not accept how the wording and the changes to the original transfer deal to appease us either. You know that it was a bad piece of business like most of the other dealings this year.

You and a few of your chums on here and at the club want to shut the fans up

and I notice how you and a few others on here sweep up on most threads to protect your good buddies.

Just an observation my good freind and I don't mean you any disrespect but you have been very rude to a lot of posters including myself and I wonder if you really support the club or an individual..Lowey per chance.

My opinion not as good as yours matey.

What difference did that make then, when up to that point he had hardly been used.

If you want to look at non-performers look at the boardroom, or signed players who have spent all their time at the club on the treatement table.

You will twist anything to make your bumchum Rupert look good.

Nope he got back well into Friday (as far as I've been told) absolutely clapped out and wasn't in a fit state to play on Saturday.Had he been he'd have probably scored at least one of the penalties.

sorry do not understand

if he had sealed his fate i still do not understand why we played him Tuesday night

Moaning like a minny am I? What is a minny? And I am not moaning, I am getting behing my club. I still go to every home game and sing my heart out for the lads, and I NEVER boo them (unlike some). But Rupert Lowe does not get the same level of respect.

And would you be kind enough to answer my question please? Do you think that Lowe should get even one penny given the state the club is in at the moment?

I know nothing of the sort and I doubt whether you do.

I've never seen this "fact" before.Where did you get it from.

I mean, I can go and look it up myself then can't I.

We don't sweep up to protect our 'good buddies'.

All the few positive voices are trying to do is prevent the forum turning into

a continual witch hunt, where the eventual victims have already been tried, judged and sentenced.

I'm thinking of giving up altogether soon because it's just too much of an uphill job honestly.

Jesus Christ if we stopped signing all these useless loanees and concentrated on keeping one or two of our better players we might have a chance.

We seem to have bought or loaned an entire squad and that is the biggest waste of money.

Especially when two of the signings haven't even played yet. :|
