I used Stronghold on the whippets. Worked ok. Holding the darn hounds still while I applied it was next to impossible. Remember those cartoons where the legs keep moving at high speed but the roadrunner doesn't go anywhere? Whippet the Younger nearly scratched a hole to Australia!! Whippet the Older was a bit more chilled.

Four fleas! Brilliant, glad we got that one out of the way early on.

Just what the hell a QC is going to be able to do about dog fleas is anyone's guess. Myself I'd take them to the vet but, hey ho...

Thing is, there are 4 dogs in the smelly house so Vet's and Frontline etc are gonna cost a bome. I was just wondering if there are any more economic methods, I hear that tea tree oil works quite well.

Non dog people I would not expect to understand the joy that they bring...aprt from the fleas and the smell of course.

Having a massive sh1t every morning brings me joy... but I wouldn't keep it in the house.

What a stupid suggestion. If dog owners killed their dogs, how would they be able to maintain that foul dog smell in their homes?

Urinate daily on the sofa, and walk around your house allday with your trousers and pants around your ankles after not wiping your bum properly.

Program eliminates the little f*ckers completely. (The fleas, not the dogs.) Unlike the other treatments mentioned which kill some or most of the fleas actually on the dogs, it sterilises any flea that feeds on the treated dog, thereby sidestepping the need to treat the carpets/bedding/sofas/ etc as well. The active bit is lufeneron, which interferes with the material the flea uses to hatch, it works brilliantly. Not cheap, but very effective indeed. Its given monthly as a tablet on a full stomach and isnt poisonous as such, or irritating to the hound. We tried loads of products over the last 30 years, this is the only permanent solution Ive found. Theres a feline version as well.
