Hatch Posted 17 July, 2011 Posted 17 July, 2011 Brazil just been knocked out in the QFs are missing ALL four penalties in the shoot-out. Paraguay win 2-0 on pens. I've never seen that before, from any team.:lol::lol::lol::lol:
Dark Munster Posted 17 July, 2011 Posted 17 July, 2011 They must have been taking lessons from the English penalty taking coach.
The Cat Posted 17 July, 2011 Posted 17 July, 2011 Mental wasn't it? I've seen the odd bit of this tournament and Brazil have looked so bad that even England might beat them.
JackFrost Posted 18 July, 2011 Posted 18 July, 2011 Both Argentina and Brazil out. Semi Final line up is Uruguay vs Peru Paaguay vs Venezuela
Kingsland Codger Posted 18 July, 2011 Posted 18 July, 2011 I haven't been following this tournament at all. Are those players based in Europe participating? Are Brazil and Argentine having to field a weak side due to absence of any stars?

Gorgiesaint Posted 18 July, 2011 Posted 18 July, 2011 Both Argentina and Brazil out. Semi Final line up is Uruguay vs Peru Paaguay vs Venezuela Have to say shocks in all 4 quarter finals, with Colombia & Chile also falling with Brazil & Argentina. Looks like Uruguay will be favourites now but the way things are going, it could be any one of those four.

Lucio, Fred, Pato, Robinho, Lucas (!), Naymar etc etc have all been playing though.

Window Cleaner Posted 18 July, 2011 Posted 18 July, 2011 nope, full strength. Tevez, Messi are all involved. Or Were. playing too much football no doubt, plus the European based players have difficulty playing with the home based players, happens in the African Nations Cup as well. Now wasn't someone telling me just the other day that you could put Messi into any old side and he'd turn up trumps for you ?
Thedelldays Posted 18 July, 2011 Posted 18 July, 2011 interestingly..(apprently) tevez was poor and Aguero was pretty darn good......alright for man citeh I guess

Messi was very quiet in the first two games and excellent in the third. pretty much summed up the Argies overall. I didn't see the QFwhere they went out but I think Uruguay defended brilliantly and Argentina weren't that bad in the QF As for Brazil the penalty shoot out against Paraguay summed up how good they've been in front of goal in this tournament http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryU811jzgn0 I see also that Arsenal have apparently signed Joel Campbell, the Costa Rican youngster that looked very impressive Edited 18 July, 2011 by JackFrost
