dubai_phil Posted 18 July, 2011 Share Posted 18 July, 2011 Most of this sounds a lot like what's been coming from our friends down the road, me thinks. Not quite. But I think we should say a big Hello to all those Channel 4 Researchers out there who have surfed all of the Poopey Thread & The Golden Takeover threads in order to learn how to set up a scam. Goddamit we so really should have copyrighted a lot of that stuff, Barry The Briefcase makes it into the press & no doubt they learnt a few tricks from us as well for tonights show... K,Billy's supersound Posted 18 July, 2011 Share Posted 18 July, 2011 hmm just tried to make a point of the fact markus was named owner of our club and still is after his death and made no mention of the fact ownership has passed onto his family. saint si Posted 18 July, 2011 Share Posted 18 July, 2011 Was ridiculous and offensive. Absolutely right it was. He died and ownership of the asset passed to his estate. Nothing shocking or surprising about that. If that was the worst they could find, they weren't looking very hard.

locksheathsaint101 Posted 18 July, 2011 Share Posted 18 July, 2011 What did they say? That we were owned by a LTD company owned by Markus. Then said Herr Liebherr died last year with a dramatic pause as if we weren't fully aware of that and its implications. I'm actually offended that we've been lumped in with those other corrupt organisations.

badgerx16 Posted 18 July, 2011 Share Posted 18 July, 2011 We should register our complaint. (I'm about to watch the programme now - been watching Panorama) Just done so, via the C4 website : "With reference to the program 'How to buy a football club', at a point just over half way through this program, the presenter listed a couple of examples of Championship teams with what was inferred to be 'dubious' foreign ownership, complete with what is colloquially termed a 'pregnant pause' for effect. One of these team was Southampton FC, whose ownership was given as Markus Leibherr, who it was correctly pointed out died last year. What was conveniently omitted, is that on Herr Leibherr's death the club's ownership simply passed through his estate to his heirs. There is nothing suspicious or dubious concerning this situation, and I resent this slur on the team I have supported for over 40 years."
