Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 Currently 15mins and counting to get my hands on a season ticket
S-Clarke Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 I've seen some people in other threads talking about 90mins + on hold.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 15 July, 2011 Author Posted 15 July, 2011 I've seen some people in other threads talking about 90mins + on hold. Jesus Christ! I have to go back and teach in 30 mins. Hurry up Saints FFS.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 15 July, 2011 Author Posted 15 July, 2011 what number you guys calling on? 0800 280 0050
saintscottofthenortham Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 try 01271 335708. Thats the number I used for Wembley. It will keep giving the 'busy' tone but hang up and keep trying and you get through pretty quickly. I did anyhow.
SFKA South Woodford Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 30 minutes for me, another 5 and i'm giving up! 35 mins to buy one ticket for a pre season noddy tournament is a joke. They should have either taken on extra staff or have had a seperate line for season ticket renewals! Yet again the customer service at our club stinks!

They should have either taken on extra staff or have had a seperate line for season ticket renewals! Yet again the customer service at our club stinks! They have another 10 mins before I have to get back to working which will be a total of 52 mins on hold. I'll have to do it all again at 12:15. God knows how much my mobile bill is going to be.

Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 15 July, 2011 Author Posted 15 July, 2011 Do it online tonight? I didn't think you could buy season tickets online?
benjii Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 I didn't think you could buy season tickets online? Ah, I assumed you can. I haven't checked.
benjii Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 I didn't think you could buy season tickets online? Apologies, I think you're right.
ant Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 A whisker shy of 100 mins for me. Started phoning at 8.50am.
John D Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 oh dear I am only on 18mins so far I hope the 0800 wizard app on my mobile works - never used it before otherwise this could be expensive!
benjii Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 Why is everyone using their own mobile? You should always use your employer's phones for things like this! (Unless you are in the public sector, thanks.)
ant Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 In my case I'm a contracted worker unfortunately, not trusted with a phone on my desk!
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 15 July, 2011 Author Posted 15 July, 2011 It took me an hour and twenty in the end! Thank the lord that one my colleagues had a free period.
Brussels Saint Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 Why is everyone using their own mobile? You should always use your employer's phones for things like this! (Unless you are in the public sector, thanks.) Exactly. Just remember also whilst on hold to keep randomly saying things like ........... "thats the way forward".........."I'm right on top of it"..............etc.

"thats the way forward".........."I'm right on top of it"..............etc. "I agree. It's a point of commercial principle, that is their risk to manage.... " "*haha* we must meet up for a coffee or a beer soon. Let me know when you're going to be in town."
Turkish Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 You do realise you still have 3 weeks to buy it dont you? You dont have to sit there like mugs on the phone for an hour waiting to part with your cash, call back this time next week or the week after and i bet you get through within 5 minutes if not straight away.
HurleyBurley Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 What a waste of time - Do you lot think we'll sell out of ST's? Wait, you can't use it until August anyway!

Got through on 58min though so all sorted

Really what do you think the chances were of someone ringing up this morning and demanding to have that seat, on its own? Pretty unlikely i'd say.

This is helpful - I've just realised that even when I agree with you, your posting style still comes across as obnoxious and know-it-all.

ant Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 (edited) Personally I think it was worth holding. Yes, the chances of anybody specifically asking to be given the seat I was after was low, but I'd wager that there's a fair chance it could have been assigned at random by the ticket office (they initially tried to offer a vague area of the stand, so I asked for the exact seat number). Especially given that block 42 is one of the most popular areas of the ground. Didn't impact my work this morning anyway, Photoshop is easy enough to use one-handed Edited 15 July, 2011 by ant

You come on here with your 138 posts giving it large and mugging off our forum superstars. No place for that on here thanks. ON another note, even if every one of last seasons STH's renewed there would still be 17,000 seats left to chose from FFS. Why do people feel the need to sit there on hold for an hour then brag about it on here?

Turkish Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 You wouldn't understand, but others have friends that they wish to sit with. Shame all these mates of yours weren't around when you got a clump round the canister for acting like a div last season then pal.

I have no problem with other people using Photoshop, you really should stop making assumptions about people you know nothing about. I'm pretty sure he's better than me with it as well. I will accept the term Forum Superstar though. Hopefully there will be some Forum t-shirts printed with my name woven into the fabric. Along with Deppo's. And stevegrant and Barje just to shut them up.
Thedelldays Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 I see SFC have clearly figured out that spending any money on marketing ST sales is a waste of time...fans are desperate to part with their cash as soon as possible good work NC...finger on the pulse

ON another note, even if every one of last seasons STH's renewed there would still be 17,000 seats left to chose from FFS. Why do people feel the need to sit there on hold for an hour then brag about it on here? Don't know about others but definitely wasn't bragging myself - more ensuring the hold music didn't turn my brain to mush. What seat did you get? Block 42, Row V. Didn't catch the exact number the woman said but wanted to get off the phone sharpish by that point. Nearer the away fans side though
The9 Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 true though...people queuing for hours...on hold for 100mins+....and no mail shots to indulge us with On the morning tickets come on general sale. There is always going to be a peak with people trying to get specific seats and those moving renewals (and buying tickets for the pre-season games, bizarrely), and even if we sell fewer STs than last season there would still be thousands of tickets to shift - don't forget they're not available online this year either, forcing more people onto the phones and to the TO. Let's see if the situation is still the same later this afternoon, never mind next week. FWIW I think mail shots are a waste of time compared to the expense, but targeted emails and general ad-board reminders around the city wouldn't cost much.

A fantastic move from Super Nicky, Brilliant and considerate chairmanship. Rather than wasting our money on spamming our inbox with reminders he clearly knows what he is doing. People on here desperate to pay for renewals 3-4 months before they need them and 90 minute waiting times on the first day of new sales. Another great move by Cortese. No need for marketing and reminders at all were there.

Are they just going to forget? There was clealy no need for marketing.

Only they, or I wern't silly enough to get ourselves banned from SMS aswell so dealt with him like adults, rather than jumped up asbo badge wearers.
ant Posted 15 July, 2011 Posted 15 July, 2011 What a brilliant use of public sector time. As a teacher (I presume), he'll no doubt have put countless hours of extra work in for no additional pay. What a spiteful little comment to make.
