hypochondriac Posted 12 July, 2011 Posted 12 July, 2011 Clearly the last one was very popular and I know for me it was something I enjoyed reading on my way to work. It only generated a few pages a day and any of the rubbish comments can easily be ignored but all the information is kept in one thread which is much easier. Anyway, to continue where we left off, Keogh from Wolves was heard by someone. I say no, we don't need him and I think there are much better options.
Leslie Charteris Posted 12 July, 2011 Posted 12 July, 2011 Now where was I? Oh yes, Coventry City are in deep financial trouble still and some players have been told they might be sold, apparently. One of them is Martin Cranie, CHDAJFU?
Colinjb Posted 12 July, 2011 Posted 12 July, 2011 Now where was I? Oh yes, Coventry City are in deep financial trouble still and some players have been told they might be sold, apparently. One of them is Martin Cranie, CHDAJFU? Yes. They're screwed. SISU won't sell for anything less then a profit on their initial stake yet the club needed an 8 million cash injection recently just to stave of administration. They are only heading one way.

Oh yes, Coventry City are in deep financial trouble still and some players have been told they might be sold, apparently. One of them is Martin Cranie, CHDAJFU? How is Cranie doing? Haven't paid much attention for a while. Lukas seems like a decent player and as a saints fan would give his all.

Rated quite highly by Cov fans tbh, has settled into a decent little player there. Can't see him ever being more than an average championship defender though.
St Chalet Posted 12 July, 2011 Posted 12 July, 2011 Who would we see Crainie as a replacement for? We look 'ok' across the back and don't see Crainie bettering it.
Leslie Charteris Posted 12 July, 2011 Posted 12 July, 2011 Thank **** we avoided SISU. Indeed. Coventry have just announced that takeover talks have stalled. I know how their fans must be feeling... Still, if we can grab a bargain then they have one or two players WCDAJFU. Lukas Jutkiewicz, as mentioned above, would fit in.
hypochondriac Posted 12 July, 2011 Author Posted 12 July, 2011 Who would we see Crainie as a replacement for? We look 'ok' across the back and don't see Crainie bettering it. Well as I said I don't know what his quality is like. I still think we need a CB and maybe a RB depending on how much faith we have in Richardson.
Leslie Charteris Posted 12 July, 2011 Posted 12 July, 2011 Who would we see Crainie as a replacement for? We look 'ok' across the back and don't see Crainie bettering it. He could sub for Jaidi when he gets knackered!
St Chalet Posted 12 July, 2011 Posted 12 July, 2011 He could sub for Jaidi when he gets knackered! would he be happy with only 45 minutes every week though?
hypochondriac Posted 12 July, 2011 Author Posted 12 July, 2011 would he be happy with only 45 minutes every week though? Seems unlikey that Jaidi will play more than once a week. Even that got too much for him towards the end of the season and with another year I think we will really be picking and choosing his games this year.
Leslie Charteris Posted 12 July, 2011 Posted 12 July, 2011 would he be happy with only 45 minutes every week though? He might be if Coventry can't pay the wages!

Crazy Diamond Posted 12 July, 2011 Posted 12 July, 2011 I always thought Richard Wood was a decent player, if we're going to be vultures over the soon to be decaying corpse that is Coventry City.
Window Cleaner Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 Well as I said I don't know what his quality is like. I still think we need a CB and maybe a RB depending on how much faith we have in Richardson. I see that Leicester have just signed Konchesky from Liverpool, is he a right back or a left back?
Saint Fan CaM Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 I see that Leicester have just signed Konchesky from Liverpool, is he a right back or a left back? Blimey - Leicester sure are signing a lot of top players - they will be difficult to live with this season.
Saint Garrett Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 Konchesky is not great....struggled to get in the Forest team last season
Puddings and Monkeys Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 I always thought Richard Wood was a decent player, if we're going to be vultures over the soon to be decaying corpse that is Coventry City. How lucky we were to have escaped SISU.
Pilchards Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 Apparently they have been in contact with Maynard according to a forum and he wants to join them.
Colinjb Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 Apparently they have been in contact with Maynard according to a forum and he wants to join them. They being us? Or Leicester?
Colinjb Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 (edited) How lucky we were to have escaped SISU. The only hope for Cov at the moment is a consortium of local businessman headed up by an old club chairman. SISU are not wanting to know though, especially as the best offer they can muster is to take on all the debts and liabilities for £1. Edited 13 July, 2011 by Colinjb

EBS1980 Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 Blimey - Leicester sure are signing a lot of top players - they will be difficult to live with this season. Wonder what they are paying in wages for him too. Leicester are really throwing money at going up this season aren't they. They can't be far off buying a whole new team now, they have replaced all their back 4 and keeper now.
Saint Garrett Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 (edited) Koncheskey is on 40k/wk apparently. Football_Agent9 Football Agent Leicester signing Konchesky.. 40,000 a week wages. Big Bad Bob Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 **** or bust indeed....and how on earth Konchesky warrants 40k a week is beyond me. Total waste of a good wage. Spend it all now before the new spending rules come into play and they won't be able to. Is Satsumic still the Leicester owner or did he bugger off to Sheff Weds??
Saint Garrett Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 That doesnt prove that he is on 40k a week, and ill be surprised if he is...he's not that great.
Big Bad Bob Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 That doesnt prove that he is on 40k a week, and ill be surprised if he is...he's not that great. He's played in the Premier**** for quite a few years, last club was Liverpool, doubt if he was on small bucks there...probably wouldn't want to take a massive pay cut to move so I'd say the 40k is believable...
Verbal Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 What's the betting Leicester just miss the play-offs this year?
Verbal Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 what happened to the old thread on this subject? Solely on my say-so, it was canned. hypo stepped off the bus and into traffic.
OldNick Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 Solely on my say-so, it was canned. hypo stepped off the bus and into traffic. Oh, I missed the fun
Rory Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 I'm not saying we should be in for him as he's over priced but today's back page lead in the Western Daily Press is about Sven's Leicester City pulling out of the race to sign Maynard after having bids of £3million and £4.75million turned down by the City chairman. I think it's safe to say we won't be in for him.

I think it's safe to say we won't be in for him. Bristol City might be having a change of heart if Maynard decides he wants to leave and wont be signing a new contract next season. They must be pretty sure he will sign a new extension to his contract otherwise they are playing a dangerous game.
Rory Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 One of the more outlandish rumours of the pre-season has been debunked - Riise joins Fulham.
barney_b64 Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 Fish Mills just said on Twitter he hasn't traveled to Switzerland with rest of the squad, could this mean he will be off?
Crazy Diamond Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 Fish Mills just said on Twitter he hasn't traveled to Switzerland with rest of the squad, could this mean he will be off? It really does seem as if someone behind the scenes doesn't rate him all that highly.
S-Clarke Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 Fish Mills just said on Twitter he hasn't traveled to Switzerland with rest of the squad, could this mean he will be off? Almost certain I would have thought. Pretty strong rumours he's training with other clubs (PNE i think)

sfc4prem Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 Where have you seen strong rumours of him training at PNE? On the Preston forum, from people who were watching training and saw Fish there.

sambosa75 Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 Fish Mills just said on Twitter he hasn't traveled to Switzerland with rest of the squad, could this mean he will be off? He's our 3rd choice left back. Really not that much of a concern.

The9 Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 Lmfao, Konchesky on 40k pw. Nice one Sven, lol. Especially given that Sven loves a 4-4-2 and Konchesky's not much of a left back if he's not pushing forward.
SuperSAINT Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_7034997,00.html
Big Bad Bob Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 Leicester continue to sign expensive players I wouldn't want. On paper Konchesky looks alright, but he's been poor for a long time. I'd rather have Harding and a bit of team spirit, fewer money grabbing ******s. Leicester will have a team of big egos on big money not giving two ****s about the club. Amazed anyone is still jealous. Perhaps short term success will come, but look at it objectively, we're signing players who may well be decent top flight players, they're on the way up, hungry and determined. Leicester are signing players on the way down wanting to cash in. Sven has just recently spoke to Owen Crockgreaves agent's too.......apart from the fact that I don't rate Sven as a football manager (everything since that Italian fluke has been a failure) I really don't like this approach to running a football team a la Chelski, Man ****ty etc. etc. and I hope it falls flat on it's expensive face.... Feel sorry for the fans though, they'll all be labelled as glory hunters now..
