"On the 19th July 2011, it was announced Puncheon's agent had accepted a bid from Hull City and that they were in the latter stages of agreeing a deal for the winger. It is widely thought 'The Tiger's' manager Pearson projected the idea after hearing a local teen repeatedly say Puncheon's name in a pre-season friendly match against a local club."

This is from Wikipedia, so it must be a wind-up, but it's quite funny!

Nice little cash injection for us too.

I obviously do not know this, but I wouldn't mind betting we've already accounted for him leaving this summer. Whether that means the fees / wages for Cork and De Ridder eat into the 'Puncheon saving' or if it just means we've not spent it yet I don't know either but I don't imagine the club saw a situation where Puncheon would stay.

I don't think you can ever account like that. We wouldn't have spent money that we didn't have, it would have been silly. Punch could have got a serious injury in pre-season and then any move is off.

We might not have got any bids for him either. You only spend the money you've got, clubs that don't end up in the ****.

Accept your point but wouldn't be surprised to see him leave and no-one come in after him - especially as De Ridder has been signed.

If there is a choice I hope we sell to QPR, but only loan him to West Ham with a restriction that he cannot play against us.

Whatever supporters say about him NOT being a "team player" he does have some skill and I would hate for our promotion push to be stopped because he decided "to bother" in 2 games next season.

Hope he f's off the QPR so the little oik can't score a 93rd min winner against us!

I dont, he wont even make the bench, you can also bet if we bid for him then Saints arent getting a lot of money.

I really hope WHU get him and I think they will because both QPR and WHU have had bids for DJ Campbell accepted and I think he will come to us because hes a local lad and a fan so that leaves WHU to go after Puncheon who is the backup option.

They are completely different players so I wouldn't view it as an "either/or". If a club is in for both, they probably want both.

I sincerely hope he goes to QPR, purely so that he cannot come back to haunt us...... this season at least, anyway.

Well, we will probably leapfrog QPR next season (2012/13) so it shouldn't be an issue.
