Saint in Paradise Posted 12 July, 2011 Share Posted 12 July, 2011 Glastonbury boss Michael Eavis fears the iconic British music festival could be axed by 2015 because the growing number of outdoor summer rock events is saturating the market. "It's on the way out. We've probably got another three or four years. (British festivals) Womad and Latitude are not selling out. Partly it's economics, but there is a feeling that people have seen it all before ...," he tells Britain's The Times. http://entertainment.msn.co.nz/article.aspx?id=8271867 . swannymere Posted 13 July, 2011 Share Posted 13 July, 2011 Glastonbury will carry on regardless of what's happening elsewhere, the other festivals just don't compare.
Saintandy666 Posted 15 July, 2011 Share Posted 15 July, 2011 Glastonbury is in a different league and is also one of the few festivals that will sell out regardless of line-up.
Block 5 Posted 16 July, 2011 Share Posted 16 July, 2011 Good. The corporate suck-fest that is Glastonphant has been shoyte for years. There are way too many festivals and 99.9% of them are dog dirt.

Moaning - The Great British Excuse for not trying something interesting or different in your own life. Glastonbury is the largest event in the world, covering so much more than simply music. My ex spent a very entertaining night sitting in a tree house listening to poetry after a session making Pottery and learning some Tantric Healing skills. Me? I just passed out every night, but each to their own

Block 5 Posted 18 July, 2011 Share Posted 18 July, 2011 For the record: I have been to big festies, small festies, anarchic festies and family festies. I was at Stonehenge Free Festival and Treworgey. I went to Glastonbury in the 80s, 90s and 00s so I can speak on the subject with some authority because I have witnessed it's decline from an exciting showcase for the arts into the corporate suckfest that it has become. Perhaps some of you have more experience of the scene than me......but I seriously doubt it.
