SPURS JOKES OF THE WEEK

"London Underground wish to apologise for the severe points failure in the

Tottenham area."

(Derek Elmore, England).

"David Blaine was gutted to hear that his record of 48 days in the box

doing absolutely nothing has been broken by Darren Bent."

(Michael Kleopa, UK).

"You can buy 'Spurs, The Glory Years' from most shops, priced £200. That's

£5 for the tape and £195 for the Betamax player."

(Gary, UK).

"What's the difference between Father Christmas and a Spurs win? Some

people actually believe Father Christmas exists."

(Sam Phipps, England).

"Darren Bent is ill, so Juande Ramos offers to do his shopping for him.

While in Sainsbury's he bumps into Arsene Wenger. 'What are you doing in

here, Juande?' asks Wenger. 'Getting a bag of potatoes for Darren Bent,'

he replies. 'Sounds like a good swap to me,' says Wenger."

Bentley out of Spurs squad after frank interview

October 23, 2008

Tottenham midfielder David Bentley was left out of the squad to face Udinese in the UEFA Cup tonight - less than 24 hours after his outspoken assessment of the club's start to the season.

Bentley's comments about Tottenham's worst start to a season included suggestions players had little idea what they were doing, with the result being two points from their first eight Barclays Premier League games.

During their wretched start, Bentley has lost his place in the England squad and has also been played in a variety of different positions by head coach Juande Ramos.

Bentley was billed as one of the finest right-wingers in England following his arrival from Blackburn in the summer for a deal starting at £15million - but the loss of Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane meant he had to play as a support striker at times.

He has played all across the midfield and also had a stint at right-back.

The 24-year-old had a meeting with Ramos about playing in different positions and then insisted he was "fully behind him, 100%'' during an interview where he also admitted the club had become a laughing stock.

Then, on the eve of the UEFA Cup clash against Udinese at Stadio Friuli, Bentley was quoted by talkSPORT magazine as saying: "We've not been together; we didn't know where people were running, what people were doing. But I think we're slowly starting to get settled and people are becoming more confident.''

Apparently he said "We're 5hit"

I bet Bentley wishes he stayed at Blackburn! We see it so many times a player does well for a medium sized club, he gets a big money move to a "bigger" club and his form goes out of the window! As for Gomez he reminds me of Bruce Grobbelaar he's starting to make Paul Robinson look proffesional!

I dunno, he fooked up for the first goal of course but when he fumbled at the corner the ball was just slapped out of his hand. Besides that he made several top quality saves, he just does it in a unorthodox style.
