Think you will find they say it's about his wages not the fee.

yes the link states their media manager saying that but 'offer' includes a transfer fee to club and wages to Jack.

Anyway you look at it we had more clout and were more attractive. Happy days

Dont believe he was ever offered the job here.

Nor me, it was just Eddie Mitchell spouting more crap. Howe had talks and was being consideres but not preferred to Adkins.

Mitchell said this week that Bmth are the 'most ambitious team in the division.' Impressive statement backed up by selling 3 of their best players. Seeing as Charlton have signed two of them surely they are more ambitious for a start?!

I heard from a good source that he was interviewed and decided he didn't want the job - I think that's what prompted Mitchell's outburst.

You don't have to be offered a job to decide you don't want it.

Burnley = proper football club.

Howe was never going to jump from Bompey to PL; suggest he's at a decent club now and that he may well end up in PL (if Jonny Foreigner doesn't get there first).

Saints fans (on here)... so much bitterness ... just enjoy what we are doing ... are people really sooooh eaten up by what Bournemouth and Boscombe's ex manager may or may not be doing? I rarely give him a second (or twentysecond) thought.

I can't say I'm surprised about Eddie Howe being put down, being an ex manager of our deadly ex non rivals Bournemouth. What does surprise me is no mention to date of our current non rivals Brighton and their leader the dreaded Poyet. God please let the season start soon.

As south coast clubs, good luck to B'mouth and Brighton in the coming years.

I'd quite like us to finish comfortably above non-rivals Brighton this season to at least get the chance to massively take the p155 out of them for last season's antics before we go back to the kind of non-rivalry we currently have with Spurs again. If Brighton, Cardiff and Skate Cheats FC went down I'd pee my pants laughing.

So many sanctimonious pr1cks on here. I'm talking about andy_porter and sandwichsaint on this thread but plenty more around.

Whenever anything is raised they like to point out how people are tinged with bitterness. I have no bitterness towards Howe just amusing that we appear to have more pulling power than the team he appeared to want to manage more. Couldnt care less how Burnley do and happy for him to do well

Fck me this forum has enough banal threads and post as it is with no real football to talk of just the odd rumour about players, beers, season ticket sales.

Anyway my point is that you two are boring dull d1cks. Love you bye

Nice use of the massive overreaction there.

I think this has to be viewed in the light of Howe stating what a massive club Burnley (are) when he took over and how he couldnot possibly turn them down. I totally agree with the sentiments of whelk and will also enjoy the stick that Ian Holloway will get when Blackpool ( Prem league your having a laugh !! ) visits St Marys. Its not bitterness its just a reality check for them.
