Gotta be homemade tuna and mayo. Not shop ones because they always have sweetcorn and I hate sweetcorn.

How do you make Tuna at home?

Pure light hearted thread.

Favourite sandwich filling.

At the moment, my favourite is...

Thick slices of Brie, with bacon and cranberry sauce in a torpedo baguetto.

So god damn nice! I fully recommend you try it.

Replace with sliced beetroot and try that.

Sounds absolutely vile.

Nah, its not. About 2 months ago, I would have agreed with you, however I tried it and love it!

Seeing some of the luncheon threads, and the amount you consume, you should try it.

Go on, just once...

Peer pressure, peer pressure

hmmm, im not a big fan of beetroot though and the cranberry gives it a very sweet taste which offsets the brie and bacon

Do you cut the horrid white edges off the brie?

I havent actually made them. I go to a shop where they are made for you. I dont think they cut it off though.

It is probably one of the nicest sarnies I have ever had!

It's only the brie that puts me off. It's disgusting!

We come full circle then don't we.

What is your favourite cheese?

My favourite is edam, as it's made backwards.

(I feel good now, I haven't had a chance to say that one for a good month or 2! :o)

I had some of that once, in Dublin.

I can't help but feel that this thread should have been titled "Sandwich filling" or some such...

It is titled such as I have been accused of starting some 'I iz serious' threads which I have admitidly, so I have titled it, 'And I'm back...' to show that the seriousness has now gone

Missed by a mile being first to the homemade tuna comment. Got to admit though, thick Tuna and Mayonaise [Helmanns preferably], between slices of mixed seed bread, with fresh cracked black pepper, is absolutely bloody wonderful.

As is a homemade BLT, with the same care taken over the ingredients.

Shop bought sandwiches are wishy-washy affairs generally, or with far too much relative salt and fat in them to give them flavour.

Subway, white or Sesame.

gentle squirt of extra mayo, then simply Tuna, Tomato & a sprinkling of Jalapeno's. Take away and grind fresh black pepper on it and a shake of salt

Which is ALMOST as good as

HOT Crispy Fried Bacon with fried onions and mushrooms in a thick sliced cobb with lashings of HP Sauce

but we'd done the bacon stuff before so....

I have UKTVFood on in the background and they have just suggested having a Cadbury's Cream Egg sandwich - minging!

Are you sure you aren't watching CBeebies?

Excellent choice. I might be tempted to leave out the cranberry, as it can sometimes be a little sweet, but bacon and brie is fantastic.

Ah but what sort of bacon as we all know IT matters.
