Matthew Le God Posted 8 July, 2011 Posted 8 July, 2011 (edited) could this be a clue ???????? ] ffs It is a clue as to what the logo of the Markus Liebherr Memorial Cup logo looks like. Quite a big clue in fact! Does Arsenal's badge or kit look like this? It is just a logo to help advertise an annual pre-season tournament! Edited 8 July, 2011 by Matthew Le God
GenevaSaint Posted 8 July, 2011 Posted 8 July, 2011 on OS... WHERE DID THEY GET THAT BADGE FROM! The bear is the logo for Markus' company. Can't remember the name, oh it's not Liebherr!
1976_Child Posted 8 July, 2011 Posted 8 July, 2011 could this be a clue ???????? ] With the greatest respec' to the late Mr Liebherr, but WTF had he to do with polar bears?
Matthew Le God Posted 8 July, 2011 Posted 8 July, 2011 With the greatest respec' to the late Mr Liebherr, but WTF had he to do with polar bears? His company logo... http://www.mali-group.com/ MArkus LIebherr I guess his nickname may have been "bear". Due to his size?
patred44 Posted 8 July, 2011 Author Posted 8 July, 2011 I can understand the bear, but that one at top the has a lovely SASH !...
Dig Dig Posted 8 July, 2011 Posted 8 July, 2011 I wonder what the reaction would be if that actually was the new club badge?!
VectisSaint Posted 8 July, 2011 Posted 8 July, 2011 With the greatest respec' to the late Mr Liebherr, but WTF had he to do with polar bears? Why do you think that's a polar bear? They are usually white, that one is red. The MALI Group have always used a bear as part of their corporate logo: Just a different perspective.
trousers Posted 8 July, 2011 Posted 8 July, 2011 could this be a clue ???????? ] So, it's the reverse of last season's kit then.... red top, white sash. For my next trick..... 2+2=5

sammysaint Posted 8 July, 2011 Posted 8 July, 2011 The Badge is the same as it was before last season
John Boy Saint Posted 8 July, 2011 Posted 8 July, 2011 There is nowt wrong with our club crest. Despite it's age.
Saint 76er Posted 11 July, 2011 Posted 11 July, 2011 could this be a clue ???????? ] Just seen the OS announcement for the new ML lounge and they are using the same basic badge as above but with ML in place of the bear. Maybe Pat was on to something as a pattern now seems to be forming. Perhaps it's strictly a Markus related badge, but it's clearly been professionally designed and what we are seeing may perhaps morph into a new official club badge. The white semi circle, for example, may turn into a halo perhaps. It would seem a modern marketing idea to adopt a badge that can be adapted to represent various campaigns the club may run, whilst still retaining the identity of the full club badge. The badge, after all, is the club's corporate symbol and it's most important marketing tool. After a successful team, of course.
krissyboy31 Posted 11 July, 2011 Posted 11 July, 2011 Looks more like a Sea Lion or Walrus to me! But I guess he was like a big cuddly teddy bear! Either way it's got bugger all to do with the club crest!

hypochondriac Posted 11 July, 2011 Posted 11 July, 2011 Can see it happening... ...? Would be awful if it ever happened.
up and away Posted 11 July, 2011 Posted 11 July, 2011 Koala my arse Is this a local speciality, or something you picked up on your travels?
capitalsaint Posted 11 July, 2011 Posted 11 July, 2011 Would be awful if it ever happened. Certainly with that design, I can't recall many other badge redesigns that have absolutely nothing to do with their respective club. That's just some initials in a shield!

If a new crest means we can flog more merch to people and so buy a better player or give higher wages to keep our best players, I'm all for it.

The9 Posted 11 July, 2011 Posted 11 July, 2011 So the corporate branding of the Liebherr Memorial stuff is going to replace the club logo despite it already being used on the advertisement for the new kit ? Riiiiight. Patred's started taking ART's medication, I think.
positivepete Posted 11 July, 2011 Posted 11 July, 2011 Come on chaps. Have none of you heard of the bears of Bern in Switzerland. The brown bear is a famous symbol of the region

The9 Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 I really don't know why people persist with this garbage about changing the badge every season. As well as the club using the regular Saints badge on the new kit adverts, they have also now taken down the massive Anniversary banner next to the ticket office and replaced it with a 40 foot high banner of the current, definitely not being changed, existing Saints crest. If you think they'd do that if they were changing the club crest you are an absolute stark raving mentalist.

Big Bad Bob Posted 13 July, 2011 Posted 13 July, 2011 I give you this utterly uninspiring effort: Inspired by the design studio of A Hitler. Football Crest.com The new FFC crest has been carefully designed to coincide with a new generation of supporter and appeal more to younger fans in particular, while also providing a strong brand for the club. Its modern outline shape is taken from the shield of the previous crest. The clean and distinctive bold outline emphasizes stability while the club's two core colours - black and white - are represented by its wide bars. The letters 'FFC', that were so popular during the mid-1970s, are prominently visible, but this time in a modern format, linked together for cohesion and using the club's reserve colour of red. What a load of hoss pooh
