Their team was stolen (No jokes please) from one of our guest skate posters in the lounge and I thought it would be quite interesting to compare man for man. Apart from being our biggest rivals, also consider that they were potless a couple of weeks ago.

Obviously both teams will change and even now ours could look very different.

No need to turn this into a "cheats" thread, there is one of those running in the lounge, but which team would you prefer? It's a real case of potential vs expereince for me.

Surely we're allowed more than 3 subs even if they can't manage any more?

I thought we'd be nice to them and have a direct comparison

What about Guly, I really think he has the potential to tear the Championship up.

I think he's very underrated by our fans. One of our most skilful players IMO.

But yet you don't think he should be in the matchday 18 squad! ;)

Do you not believe their OS then? You seem to have doubts... :D

Isnt it the time of year where their bill is due for the website..expect it to go down anytime soon.

if they only have that squad when we play them they will be shot and we would beat them. If they strengthen that squad then they will be a decent side.

The fact that they have such a good starting 11 still is a disgrace, they should have been forced to sell anyone who they could to pay the creditors and field the youth team, that side will give us a good game and i wouldn't be surprised to lose to them, especially at Fratton park

It would be a close game but we would have the upper hand due to greater squad depth over the season.

Think about how this would have been 3 years ago though. To say we have caught up would be putting it extremely mildly!!!

They have a slightly better side on paper, but that may not translate to results on the pitch. It should also be noted that we have a vastly superior manager.

How they still have such a strong first 11 is beyond me. How have they managed this ?

I know, they've not been punished at all for their ridiculous spending! Before: mid-lower Championship (or Division 1 as it was then) team; Now: mid-upper Championship team with an FA Cup added to the trophy cabinet. Disgrace doesn't cover it.

From the last time we played them, we have lost Thomas,Perry, Wiago and Antonio, bringing in Oxo, Fonte, Butterfield, Cork and Guly, all better players.

They have lost James, Diop. O Hara, Dindane, Belhadj, Wlson, Utaka, Yedba, Osowu-Abeye and Piquonne bringing in Ashdown, Ward, Rocha, Halford, Lawrence, Kitson , Varney and Norris.

Up until the second goal on 75 minutes we were all over them, and if it weren't for James we would have been out of sight by the hour mark. If we play at the same tempo, I think we should do 'em.

Warnock said they have one of the strongest 1st 11s in the league last year.

They can beat anyone if theyre all fit but they have no depth.

Hope you have as much fun as we did there last year, a last min pen and seeing Liam Lawrence getting sent off for arguing about it....even though he was right and there was a ball mark on his chest.

I beg to differ.

Which of their first team players would you swap with ours (from the same position)?

To be honest at the moment it looks pretty close - but I'd expect us to win at St Marys and match them at Nottarf Krap!

Either of their CBs would be better than Martin/Jaidi/Seaborne. Norris will be a fantastic signing for them, as will Luke Varney. It's about experience as well: Varney and Kitson have more experience at the requisite level than our stirke force, the same with players such as Lawrence (although obviously AOC is infinitely more skilled).

However as I said there are plenty of other factors. Adkins v Clodderill, but also the morale within the side must be rock bottom at Fartton Park. And the relative inexperience of our side is the price of having young players who (provided we can keep hold of them) could grow into an even greater threat.

I think we'll take 3 points at St Mary's, but lose at FP. I also think this will be the last year where they are anywhere near equal to us.
