Bridesmaids

So last night, decided to take wife, son and daughter to the cinema

Son was interested in X-Men, Transformers or pirates but the wife put her foot down

So looking at the listings, I was left with Larry Crowe (a predictable romcom with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts) or Bridesmaids, a film that I had not heard about

The synopsis did not look good, a mostly female cast telling what happens when a woman is asked to act as maid of honour for her best friends wedding

However, the ratings on Rotten Tomatoes were very high, from both critics and audience so I gave into pressure

I am here to tell you that it was surprisingly good. Sure, some of it is predicatble and the ending is pure Hollywood, but it was genuinely laugh out loud funny and in places, just downright weird..

By the way, it is a 15 rating so there is some swearing, but if you are looking to earn some brownie points with the missus by agreeing to a chick flick, this is the one

Ah this could be handy. Am due to go to cinema at weekend original plan was to see Hangover 2 but think it finishes tomorrow so this could well be an option

That or let the Mrs go on her own while I pop to the pub and wait
