View From The Top Posted 16 July, 2011 Share Posted 16 July, 2011 Well a major factor has been the pricing. Mine (for instance) has gone down £100 from Withdean and I pay it off over a year with absolutely no penalty. It's also a very very good stadium. That's a great deal. Hedgehog Posted 16 July, 2011 Share Posted 16 July, 2011 Not sure if this applies to the arguement or discussion but is the club allowed to have such details under the data protection act, are they allowed to keep photocopies of birth certificates, i don't know. perhaps someone can inform this thread. As long as they are not disclosed to a third party and are used for the purposes of which they were obtained there is no problem with them having copies of anything. Just don't send them the originals then we could have all sorts of passports and bank accounts being opened up but this could allow us to bypass the made in Europe rules for players which would be good enough for us but don't just yet qualify with the existing rules. 70's Mike Posted 17 July, 2011 Share Posted 17 July, 2011 Yes it does matter...ok not to someone like you that it doesn't affect. I have had my lad enrolled in Junior Saints since he was 2. He has been a ST now for 3 years so been on their database for 12 years with his DOB and received gifts, birthday cards etc. So why because the club has now decided that customer service is a swear word should they take photo copies of his birth certificate? One day soon the club will do something like this that affects you and its starting to happen to different people now...I will remind you that you should just bend over and take everything the club wants regardless. Totally agree my son is 16 and been registered at the club since he was 3, Birthday cards from favourite player etc, now they want a passport copy. As you say there are many aged 22 to 60 this does not effect
ericofarabia Posted 17 July, 2011 Share Posted 17 July, 2011 (edited) All this photocopying - the use of ink, paper and man power - no wonder the fees have gone up!!! Barry The briefcase isn't the new Ticket Office Manager is he? Talking about the Ticket Office - how about a message from them on here like they did on various issues last year - updating us and answering quries in general? Chez Posted 17 July, 2011 Share Posted 17 July, 2011 As long as they are not disclosed to a third party and are used for the purposes of which they were obtained there is no problem with them having copies of anything. they must also have systems in place to protect the data in terms of security and best practices. Perhaps that's why there is no time to post out season tickets ordered on the web.

What next, reduced ticket prices when you get to the Prem because the sky money enables it? I'm glad he has been rewarded by you selling out. Keep in touch, I'd be very interested to know about other policies (good and bad) brought in.

It's not just a stadium though, probably has quite a few other revenue streams attached to it as well, don't Brighton University have part of it as well? How much did they get from Amex for the naming rights?Quite a bit I expect.
Eastcowzer Posted 17 July, 2011 Share Posted 17 July, 2011 Bought mine today and was told they would start posting them out next week. I complained by Email They had all the required info AND took the money out of my account but no acknowledgment sent. Received a reply on Wednesday. Tickets posted within the next two weeks. The Reason: They have'nt got them yet from their printers. What a shambles. Almost on a par with those down wind on the M27.

I haven't had a ST for a few years now but seem to remember, even when renewing during "March Madness", they were only ever sent out a fortnight before the big kick-off. Pip Posted 17 July, 2011 Share Posted 17 July, 2011 why is it a shambles......you cant use them yet..it would be a shambles if you dont have them the morning of the 6th aug To me the shambles is that I ordered online on 2 July and the only option was to collect from the stadium but when I went down to the stadium 2 weeks later I was told it would not be ready for another fortnight. Not a problem as such but a note on my receipt or on the web page would have saved a wasted journey.

The9 Posted 18 July, 2011 Share Posted 18 July, 2011 Well that's not true because i've mine sat upstairs, although I purchased in person. Not that it matters. Having not seen anything else on here to describe it, is it the same format as last season ? Printed slip in the front, match-by-match tickets with a bus voucher (or two) inside in book format ? I'm assuming if it was an NFC-based smart card for magical new turnstile operating that someone would have started a thread about it by now. And also that we'd have new external turnstiles surrounding the ground as I can't imagine they'd be able to fit the technology AND the staff to sort out problems into the existing areas. Anyone wanting to mention that this will give the club yet another opportunity to cash in on the car park charges can form an orderly queue behind me. Though I should point out that if you're waiting for more than 15 minutes it'll cost you a quid .

Hi VFTT. who did you send the email to, I have sent 2 in the past week with no response, hopefully they are clearing a back-log, Thanks. I notice the latest news on he OS says "Supporters who have requested to collect their Season Tickets can now do so from the box office at St. Mary's. " There wasn't a choice was there?
