SO16_Saint Posted 2 July, 2011 Share Posted 2 July, 2011 Someone was discussing this earlier at the pub, and it got me thinking. Who is more important to you? I think its an impossible question to answer. Or is it? Thoughts?? Currently it's my wife, but will be a father for the first time in a few months, so will that change???? LGTL Posted 2 July, 2011 Share Posted 2 July, 2011 My girlfriend at the moment. I assume when I have children they will be equally as important but in different ways.
SO16_Saint Posted 2 July, 2011 Author Share Posted 2 July, 2011 My girlfriend at the moment. I assume when I have children they will be equally as important but in different ways. That was my thinking, then they brought up the old burning house scenario - who would you save? Catch
saintscottofthenortham Posted 2 July, 2011 Share Posted 2 July, 2011 I love my missus. I love my kids in a whole different way. A way that I could never explain to someone who didn't have kids. I probably couldn't even explain it to another father, but he would know what I meant as I would him.

EastleighSoulBoy Posted 3 July, 2011 Share Posted 3 July, 2011 Wife V Kids, burning house scenario? I just know who my Mrs wants me to save first and in that situation I would want my Mrs to get the kids out first and hopefully I'd make it somehow. Needless to say she didn't talk to me much for the rest of the day...
Pugwash Posted 3 July, 2011 Share Posted 3 July, 2011 (edited) I love my missus. I love my kids in a whole different way. A way that I could never explain to someone who didn't have kids. When the kids grow up and get lives and responsibilities of their own, your feelings change a bit - happier, prouder and sadder all at the same time. View From The Top Posted 3 July, 2011 Share Posted 3 July, 2011 leads on to the next question when the wife says you love that football club more than me ' date=' what do you say as a serious reply[/quote'] My wife asked me this many years ago, before she was my wife. I replied that Saints had been in my life before her and if we split up would be there after her. She got the message.
Colinjb Posted 3 July, 2011 Share Posted 3 July, 2011 Very tricky. My fiancée and her little girl would be ranked at the same level for me. They came as a pair, and I understood the terms. As for 'do you love Saints more then me?' View from the Top pretty much nailed my feelings on it.

SNSUN Posted 3 July, 2011 Share Posted 3 July, 2011 For the purposes of protection against I.d. theft, I'm gay, have a live-in Puerto Rican lover, and an adopted 14 year old African child whom I'm teaching to respect his big gay dads. In all seriousness, I have a Norwich supporting missus and no children, but I'd imagine when I do have kids they'd be my world.
the stain Posted 3 July, 2011 Share Posted 3 July, 2011 I believe that children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way.
