View From The Top Posted 1 July, 2011 Posted 1 July, 2011 If you want to take advantage of the ST payment an you have to go to the TO in person as you have to sign the DD forms. So, season ticket holders, like me, who live 160miles away can't take advantage of it unless we drive down and pay £40 in petrol to do so. Sometimes I wonder about the thinking process at Saints.
Colinjb Posted 1 July, 2011 Posted 1 July, 2011 I would assume that this is a fraud prevention thing.
miserableoldgit Posted 1 July, 2011 Posted 1 July, 2011 DD`s can be set on-line and over the phone can`t they??
Dig Dig Posted 1 July, 2011 Posted 1 July, 2011 They probably want a look to make sure that you're not a dirty scumbag
Sour Mash Posted 1 July, 2011 Posted 1 July, 2011 What I've been saying for ages on here, the club really aren't @rsed about shifting season tickets and will do the minimum to encourage them being shifted, don't know why this sort of thing surprises people anymore.

Get used to the drive - if youre getting a season ticket youll be doing the same drive twice a month anyway!
View From The Top Posted 1 July, 2011 Author Posted 1 July, 2011 DD`s can be set on-line and over the phone can`t they?? The lass I spoke to said they couldn't be posted because we might not get them! Strange then that's how they send out my season ticket and away game tickets.

Saint_clark Posted 1 July, 2011 Posted 1 July, 2011 Annoying, yes. Insane? I'd put that in the "criminal record check" kind of zone.
View From The Top Posted 1 July, 2011 Author Posted 1 July, 2011 Get used to the drive - if youre getting a season ticket youll be doing the same drive twice a month anyway! Bit of a difference between driving down for match and having to drive down to get a ticket for a game that you then have to drive back down for!

The way our club go about doing some of the smaller/simpler things these days really does make me chuckle, f*****g odd at times.

WHAT?! Can family members take it out for you? I'm certainly not going to drive 200 miles down get one when my brother could pick it up for me.

If he has your details (inc. pin number) then of course he can. Unless you give him the money and he pays it out of his account.

Barry the Badger Posted 1 July, 2011 Posted 1 July, 2011 Again a case of a small minority ruining this for the rest of us. A few idiots abuse the installment plan causing the club to get all panicky about it and enforce these silly rules.

I know next to f**k all about how direct debits etc work, but how will this make too much difference in stop people ripping off the club if they so choose?
hughieslastminutegoal Posted 1 July, 2011 Posted 1 July, 2011 (edited) If he has your details (inc. pin number) then of course he can. Unless you give him the money and he pays it out of his account. What has a pin no. got to do with setting up a DD? Why are people excusing the club's process here with rubbish like "you have to drive down for a match don't you?" or "get a relative to do it for you". Would you excuse a London Theatre if they were acting in the same way as the football club? Where I work we do not have "paperless" direct debiting so have to do it the old fashioned way with paper DD mandates. We send out the forms all the time, and process them when we get them back. No problem, but it takes a few days longer. If what the originator of the thread says is correct, the club are being a bit obstuctive, or just plain stupid, it seems to me. Strange then that's how they send out my season ticket and away game tickets. That's a p**s poor excuse from the club. If there is an issue, I'm sure you can go into your bank and set it up and the bank can confirm to the club. All you need is the club bank details.

BlagdonSaint Posted 1 July, 2011 Posted 1 July, 2011 Your fault for living 160 miles away. Support a team up there. Tw*t.
aintforever Posted 1 July, 2011 Posted 1 July, 2011 You do wonder what's going on at that place sometimes. Like last season, being made to jump through hoops for a Man Utd ticket only to be sat next to thousands of empty seats. It's ****ing retarded.
hughieslastminutegoal Posted 1 July, 2011 Posted 1 July, 2011 I think we established that it was actually a really really small number who did this. Ah well, that's ok then. Let's not bother to try to provide a good service to everyone.

JRM Posted 1 July, 2011 Posted 1 July, 2011 Bloody hell the whingers are out in force at the moment............................ Don't know why i'm bothering to respond to this, but the people you call whingers are customers of the club, with loyal years of repeat purchasing, who want to go through the simple act of buying a season ticket. The club seem determined to make this as difficult as possible and questions should be asked as to why they do this. Is it just incompetence, are they so cash rich that they are completely complacent in the service they provide, or do they just not care.

Dimond Geezer Posted 1 July, 2011 Posted 1 July, 2011 (edited) What has a pin no. got to do with setting up a DD? A proportion (50% I think) needs to be paid up front, so this could be taken by credit card. However, iirc the TO doesn't have pin facilities, so any family members coming disguised as the genuine STH will need to practice the signature, rather than memorise the pin. So you've now joined the hard done by brigade you were slagging off on another thread. As you're getting your 9 year olds ticket for nothing and don't have to purchase your ticket by DD stop 'kin whinging http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?30578-Season-Ticket-Prices-Released&p=1060221#post1060221 Get off your high horse. If you read the thread I happen to agree that the changes have been poorly managed and also unfair. However, the amount of 'kin whinging is pathetic considering that a decent cheap offer is available. If you'd like to call me names in person next season I sit in block 16 row V. Feel free, I think you'll find I'm a decent enough chap, just dislike the "hard done by" brigade. .

derry Posted 2 July, 2011 Posted 2 July, 2011 Ask the ticket office to Fax or post the DD form to you, sign it and Fax or post it back.
View From The Top Posted 2 July, 2011 Author Posted 2 July, 2011 Ask the ticket office to Fax or post the DD form to you, sign it and Fax or post it back. I did. I even suggested that they email it to me, I print it, sign it and return it. Nope, was the reply. Have to do it there and then. As I mentioned, I'm thankfully in a position that it will have no impact but it does strike me as not understanding that not all fans live in the shadow of SMS.
Toomer Posted 2 July, 2011 Posted 2 July, 2011 I pay my council tax on a monthly DD set it up over the phone years ago, can't remember if the wife or I filled out or signed a form the club should be able to do the same over the phone and if required send the DD form out by post.
alpine_saint Posted 2 July, 2011 Posted 2 July, 2011 The club have re-introduced an installment scheme after all the abuse heaped on it last season. Quit your foul whining, and instead have a look at the so-called "fans" who defaulted on their repayments, that lead to the scheme being stopped in the first place.
dune Posted 2 July, 2011 Posted 2 July, 2011 Get used to the drive - if youre getting a season ticket youll be doing the same drive twice a month anyway! Don't talk like a ****. It's a joke what the club are asking fans any distance from the ground to do. As is their feeble excuse about info getting lost in the post. What's wrong with sending a photocopy of your passport/driving licence? Even if the club stipulated it be sent recorded or special delivery it'd be better than forking out for diesel. Or they could simply ask that documentation is produced within a certain period or tickets are revoked.
derry Posted 2 July, 2011 Posted 2 July, 2011 With all the restrictions, evidence of age , DDs etc, it's almost like they don't want season tickets. It just makes me wonder if their transfer negotiations are carried out in the same pedantic way.
