Rebecca Black quote just in regarding the rumours about joining Adkins' bus.

"Gotta make my mind up

Which seat can I take?"

Nigel in the front seat.

Kelvin in the back seat

Becky make your mind up

What seat can you take?

We're working hard behind the scenes to get things done.

Its one of them, the best things are kept as private as possible.

Its important who we bring in, that its the right person, not just somebody for the sake of doing it.

Is that right? I've not read that one.

You know more than me, then.

We've got a good strong squad of players in the building at this moment in time and we always talk about getting the best out of the players we've got. Together as one.

He's a Doncaster player. Full stop.

There will be speculation and we've got to make sure that we control that to a level to allow the player to flourish

He's one of our players. He's got a smile on his face. He's working hard. We're looking forward to him scoring more goals for southampton.

That's the beauty of football, that's the drama of it, the speculation goes on. Its great. That's what makes football go around.

I haven't laughed so much in ages. You're so right

Lol at the abuse andoverian receives for not towing the party line just as he predicted. Who said you

Don't get abuse on here for going against the grain?

May be so, but so many posters deserve abuse for mangling the English language - it's toeing the line, not towing!

As someone once said to me "Are you an ignoramus?" "No, I'm from Wiltshire."

BTW, I think OXO's off and I think (hope) we might get a good player back in exchange. We'll see soon enough.

"Transfer news high on the agenda" f*ck all happening tomorrow then.

Why does Sibley bother with that b@ll@x.

Cause he knows we've got fans who buy it, as they want to be spoon feed daily.

Without wanting to get my hopes up, this sounds like the first significant official comments to be coming out of the Club for a little while. Although I'm not expecting any big news as now been accustomed to in the last couple of Seasons, I'm hoping to hear or read something that is going to give us all a lift.

I really hope the Press Conference has something that can spark some excitement into the main board, such as confirmed news of something that will start some new jubilant and/or speculative threads!

It has probably been said in course of this thread, but in my true form I have missed it. Tomorrow is 1st July official open day of transfer season I think. NC appears to be a stickler for doing things to the book. There is a press conference tomorrow. Yes I know I am putting 2 and 2 together and making 17, but what if NC/NA have made signings and tomorrow they will be unveiled, as correct on transfer opening day.

However I am only trying to make the puzzle pieces fit and it's just announcing the new official pie flavour for our match day enjoyment ..... Parmesan and pasta .

Wasn't official start when season ended? UK transfers

Yep, Nick is correct. Transfer window officially opens at midnight on the day of the last game of the season i.e. the last playoff final in May 2011.

Isn't the 1st of July seen as the start of the window because contracts expire on 30th of June? Or did i read that on some dodgy website like the daily mail?

The transfer window isn't just for those out of contract. The Premier League rulebook state the window opens at midnight on the last day of the season. Hence why there have already been a number of deals between the last game of 2010/11 and 1st July.

I know, but with little else or ITK coming out of the club these days, it's all I have and is all I can do...

I hope my patience remains the same! :D

Oh dear oh dear, what was that all about? We've just had a great season, the club are on the up and all can do is moan - get a life. Cortese has been proved right - so far. Football is about strong management and money, get used to it, unless you want permanent league one football, in which case Bournemouth is the club for you - most of us are ambitious here.....In any sport, the higher you go the more it costs........Fact of life....

This....and I was born in the fifties.

Want to support a debt-laden club go East ...want to doddle along with the occasional burst of excitement (mostly when Saints are the opposition) - go West. I'm enjoying the ride and have, much to my surprise given the time feeling all elitist in the PL, thoroughly enjoyed the last two seasons.

I don't play golf regularly or belong to a club because, although I quite enjoy it, I can't justify the expensive walk so accept I pay more tp play when I do. My choice...your choice - don't blame the guys who have to deliver - and balance the books!

He's getting stick because his arguments don't stack up - a concept you should be familiar with?

My understanding is you are correct, but most proffessional contracts run to 30th June, hence anybody we might sign who is contracted to another club can't officially sign a new contract until 1st July.

Anybody know what time the press conference is ?

It's his opinion not an argument. He thinks how the older generation have been treated is grossly unfair and thinks that cortese will eventually sell for a big profit. He also predicts insults for expressing that and sure enough out they come.

Whilst I do not share that entire opinion, I think it's totally correct that he is allowed to express it without abuse. There is no argument here, just a fellow fan expressing an opinion which differs from the collective 'opinion' of the forum.

Without getting into this argument again, why can`t people understand that it is the 72% rise that has upset some of us. We were all expecting a rise in prices. We may be old but we`re certainly not stupid, but I am so pleased that this forum is full of uber-fans who would happily accept a 72% rise (which of course they haven`t had to) and not moan at all.

TBH I'm not sure I'm too bothered by it to be honest. For me it's a small error of judgement from the club which has left a minority irritated. However, the last thing I'm going to do is insult you or belittle your point of view and I accept that I may very well feel differently had it happened to me.

This will just be a standard, start of pre season press call.

Could be Rivas though, I sort of give some credibility to that rumour. As Bari have gone into Serie B it's the sort of deal that just might happen.

I wonder what Adkins would say if a player ever does reject us? I doubt if we had a significant bid accepted that it was us who walked away from any deal.

Who knows. Similar situation with Baldock Mk Dons/Pboro. At the end of the day he isn't coming.

Seems odd, although it would make sense if a preferred player became a viable option after we made our bid.
