standing in the chapel

I feel the same about the Cortese 'song'.

If there's people who try to claim they're a 'better' fan for standing and/or singing then wow. :|

It's something I do because I enjoy it, not to proclaim myself a superfan. I suppose that accusation does ring true with some elements of our fanbase (the season ticket wavers in Block 42 for example).

When you've paid your money you can spectate as you like, of course you can. I don't think I've ever met anybody that prefers a quiet football ground though and that noise has to come from somewhere, which is why I prefer being in the Northam (whether sitting, standing or hunched praying to the football gods ;)).

Fans are free (within reason) to do and behave however they want at matches, they pay their money they can do what they want. However, it stirkes many fans as strange that some go to a fair bit of effort to travel to games only to show minimal amounts of excitement or passion for actually supporting their team, sitting there glum faced and emotionless, like they've only gone along because they absolutely have to. What got me hooked to going to football as a kid was the noise and atmosphere, loud support, its one of the things that makes football different to rugby or cricket etc. Doesn't mean you have to join in with every song (I think the Lallana one is stupid as well and give it a wide berth), doesn't mean you can't make an effort at getting vocally behind the team.

A good rule in life as well as watching football matches is that while you can do what you want, this does not apply if your actions have an unpleasant actions on others. i.e. a person might be free to drink drive but really shoudn't as they run over and kill people and a person might be free to smoke in an enclosed space but this gave others cancer. People standing at away matches has the effect of making it impossible for anyone who doesn't want to stand to be able to actually watch the match without standing themselves.

Which is why they should ask you whether you want 'singing' or 'non-singing' when the club divvy out away tickets. Get the watchers to the front and the singers to the back. We'd all be happy then!

Thing is, that could work un-officially, and sometimes does. I don't even bother looking at my ticket for away games and just migrate to the back. It usually isn't a problem.

Just relocated from the Northam to the Chapple block 24, being joined by a dozen or so mates, so let the party begin. Just shy of 6000 season tickets sold as of 13.30 today.

In total? Or just the Chap?

If in total that is bloody terrible. one week since they went on sale and only 6,000 sold? That is really, really, really carp.

i use to sit in chapel during the prem and there were regulars who would stand near the back of 25/26 i think but some of them were nobs like some of the northam as

My pet hate is the fans who think there cool standing up and giving stewards abuse, you can tell they were bullied at school..., i agree we should be aloud to stand but when they say sit down just do it and don't say get a proper job and give it the large.

6000 ish was the TOTAL sold for the whole ground at that point in time. 6000 in a week is not great but ok. 3 more weeks at that rate would make 24000 which would be great but unlikely. Think there will be a surge on the last day for renewals. For anyone like me that will have a pay cut from next year and wants to save some dosh if you relocate you pay £380 and not the £465 or £515 you would pay for you usual seat. Some people think you have to pay for your usual seat and then claim a refund, you don't.
