Emergency services were geared up for a major incident in West Auckland last night.

 

Police contacted the fire service around 9.40pm, after receiving a call from someone

saying a room was being gassed at a Hobsonville Rd address in Waitakere.

 

Police thought the incident may have been related to a burglary and several officers

attended the scene.

 

Fire service spokesman Mau Barbara says they sent three appliances, a hazardous

substance unit and

around 12 firemen. He says they went in with a gas detector and discovered
