saintscottofthenortham Posted 25 June, 2011 Share Posted 25 June, 2011 Anyone ever been paragliding? I'm doing it tomorrow morning at Cloudbase Paragliding in Wiltshire, providing the weather holds up. Wondered if anyone on here has done or does it regularly. What can I expect? What sort of height do they get you up to? Been told to wrap up in layers but don't want to be baking whilst up there. Neither do I wanna be freezing my nads off so should probably just listen to the advice. Looking forward to it.

LGTL Posted 25 June, 2011 Share Posted 25 June, 2011 It always reminds me of that Only Fools and Horses episode. Classic.
dune Posted 25 June, 2011 Share Posted 25 June, 2011 When I was staying in los cristianos, tenerife you used to see loads of them coming down from the mountains. They were supposed to land on a football pitch. Was being taxi'd somewhere and saw some c/nt miss the landing spot and smash into a palm tree. Funny as f/ck. The Kraken Posted 25 June, 2011 Share Posted 25 June, 2011 Done it a few times, but only whilst away skiing. Skiing off a mountain, thoroughly exhilarating (though of course you end up paragliding with your skis on). You'll love it. I'm not very good with heights but found it to be an amazing experience each time.
LGTL Posted 25 June, 2011 Share Posted 25 June, 2011 I've heard Barney Trubble did it off a 600ft cliff, only without a paraglide! He's a hero you know.

Being up in the sky, open to everything, yet there being no sound of an engine whilst looking down at the birds that are flying beneath you. A really good time and shall defineatly be doing it again.
