5/1 for any form of promotion to the Prem currently

Saints are about 5/1 for any form of promotion next season.

I think those are quite generous odds. I am going to bet £20 and drink 6 less pints of beer between now and May 2012. Then I might go mad on promotion day with £100 to spend on loads of jelly beans :)

You can also get a generous 5/1 on Pompey being relegated (9 players ATM, the new owners looking dodgy) - but I'm unsure about that one, because what would happen to the bet if they possibly ceased to trade or got points deducted for whatever complicated financial or legal reason that might yet occur...

Any good punters or lawyers offering free opinions on either Saints or Pompey bets?

I wouldn't back us at 5/1 to go up. I'd sat we're about a 10/1 shot. So I think the odds are mean.

5/1 on Portsmouth goign down is an excleent bet though. I'll have some of that.If they ceased ro trade, I think you'd bet your money back. If they went down becaue of a points deduction, you'd win your bet.

I hardly ever bet on Saints but I don't think 5/1 is great, as others have said 10/1 is more realistic and the pompey one looks a better bet as well.

Incidentally I did make enough in two months of betting to cover the price of a S/T which is handy. Who needs an installment plan eh?

Always have a pre-season bet (heart ruling head!). I'm on at 11/2 to be promoted which was the best I could see at the time. Didn't take the 18/1 for winning the league though ... I may regret that ... or then again wouldn't that be something!!

Best price on promotion now 5/2 ... early days but nice to be rated in the first three in betting (with Leicester and West Ham)
