and that's funny because. .

Perhaps Dune finds it funny because Blackpool elected a Tory? Or perhaps he is laughing at a Tory wasting parliamentary time (if you're going to stand up and talk in the Commons, get to the point...)? Hardly funny, but hey this is Dune's sense of humor we're talking about...

Fantastic speech - a great guy.

Dune found this funny? Sad really!

Its strange cos normally fans of eugenics and the final solution would get angry not amused.

OMG - what an excellent maiden speech. Very confident and humble, and a real inspiration to see someone with cerebral palsy and epilepsy get himself elected to parliament.

I agree. Without patronising it shows how far we have come as a nation.

Deppo gets banned forever and Dune is allowed to get away with mocking disabilities

One question:

wheres_the_justice_alex_bainbridge.jpg

And when asked the direct question Dune skips around it then ignores it. Quite a socialist thing to do.

Seriously though I'm sure Maynard is a inspiration to many people, unfortunately for dune he intended a wind-up and has had quite the opposite reaction.

There you all go jumping to completely the wrong conclusion of what I was laughing at. I most certainly was not laughing at any disability he may or may not have.

Perhaps you'd care to explain then Dune, I watched Paul Maynards speach and was nothing but inspired by it. Have we all missed the joke, or do you have some other issues?

Typical to have so many members of the liberal elite/PC brigade on here saying it's wrong to make fun of the disabled people. Bloody PC gone mad. Back in the day we used to make fun of them all the time and it never did me any harm. This is turning into a nanny state.

Don't let the tree huggers stop you laughing at disabled people, they need to just get a sense of humour.

So tell me, what was actually funny about it. As I said before I didn't get the joke, nor it seems did many others.

When is 'back in the day'? I'm pretty long in the tooth and go back some time but I don't remember being encouraged to, or actively making fun of people with disabilities. Even, if as you say it is (was) not wrong 'back in the day', I think that if you pull your head out of the clouds, you'll find that society has changed somewhat and many things that were socially acceptable 'back in the day' are not considered so now.

Anyway, you carry on laughing - don't forget to explain the joke to us less able people, I'm off back to my tree.

it seems your friends on the left disagree.

Sergei, thanks for reminding me of that incident. It is interesting that people's views and even the Equality Act doesn't quite see everything equally. If the MP was black and you mocked him because of his colour then the would be somewhat of a different reaction to him being mocked because of his disability.

Or even the outrage that was sparked when Cameron said 'calm down dear calm down dear' during PMQs. Obviously it is acceptable for Labour MPs to pull faces and Mock somebody with cerebral palsy but not to be seen to make a sexist remark however petty.

Tom Harris MP, who did not attend the debate at which Maynard says he was mocked, told BBC Radio 5 Live on Saturday that he did not think any of the MPs who were there knew about Maynard's disability.

I didn't realise he had a disability until it was pointed out on this thread.

This comment perfectly illustrates the attitude of the Liberal Elite. Sergei, angelman, and myself are championing rights for disabled people, but because it has been found that holier than thou members of the parliamentary Labour party mock disabilities norwaysaint in turn mocks our opinions. Sadly we have all become accustomed to the hypocrisy of the left.

So you claim to be 'championing rights for disabled people' yet you can't answer a direct question about why you think the clip of Paul Maynard is funny.

Do you really have nothing better to do with your life than wind people up on forums dune?

Deppo got removed from the Forum for less, norwaysaint should be removed from society.

I'm with you.

Why should someone from Norway be allowed to post on our British football forum anyway? What does a Norwegian know about our ENGLISH football club? He should go back to Norway and support his own club on his own Norwegian forum (if they have the internet in Norway).

I may be mistaken, but wasn't Norwaysaint's post intended to be ironic ?

In terms of what makes me go OMG, - the fact that Dunce is still on the forum, and still getting away with his trolling.

Norwaysaint's post was indeed ironic. He is Deppo/Atticus Finch of Maycomb/Kardeem Hardison. All one and the same.

I have to say I'm with Dune and norwaysaint on this, you should all watch the video. It's well funny, the way he speaks and that.

If there was ever a case of dual log in its Dune/norwaysaint. have a look back at their post histories.

yeah, very good mate. I was probably a little slow on the uptake, but having had certain things pointed out to me and having just re-read a thread elsewhere, the penny has dropped.

I can understand that some people may have an agenda and certain points to prove, but to effectively mock any disabled person (even if it is just to get a reaction from certain people) is not the way to make your point.

This thread should be consigned to the Muppet Show, or better still, deleted entirely. Some people have gone down considerably in my estimation.

For the record i'm not norwaysaint.

Believe this or don't, i'm not bothered.

Expect us to believe that? Let's look at the evidence:

One logs on when the other logs off.

Both expressing disgust of different races, cultures and the disabled.

I rest my case.
