How would you get involved with that?

My Dad is a retired engineer and avid steam fanatic. Would there be any demand for his volunteered services?

I live in Alresford, my little brother volunteered a couple of years ago. Just go there and ask for a volunteer form.

Interests outside Saints? Surely not?

Hockey: currently umpiring at a pretty mediocre level, formerly played at a reasonable level, and have coached at a very good level.

Cricket: played at village level for a number of years, then self and Mrs Sandwich built a colts section from scratch to a club with 10 junior teams over a number of years; now enjoying watching the first team cricket where a side with seven of 'our' former colts have gone through 5 promotions in 7 seasons and have gone from nowhere to County league.

Golf: I'd like to play more but time and opportunity are limited. Play a few rounds and I get to a competent standard then I don't play for the next 6 months (last time I played was in Newquay on cricket tour in August 2010); coincidently I'm playing at Prince's next week, whic will be all tricked up ready for Open qualifying .. better take an abacus and a bag of spare balls for that one.

Skiing: skied a couple of times as a nipper then nothing for 20 plus years: got back into it via my own kids and have been once or twice a year for the past 5-6 years, this was the first year I hadn't been for a number of years. Not very good (not fit enough!) but I do enjoy it at my own level (brillant on blue, competent on red, hanging in thereack, off piste? Don't even go there).

My first love (after Mrs S of course) would have to be biking which I've really grown into over the last 10-15 years. I have a half decent MTB and a perfectly decent road bike. Try and ride between 100-200km a week and have started doing a week at the TDF for the last three years. Awesome! Going to the Alps this year and we are aiming for 5 big days on the bike including three days watching mountain stages.

Meanwhile back in the real world, family. missus and two lads 23 and 21: lots of work, lots of wine; hate housework and all things DIY.

I play hockey for local side, sometimes play football with people from work, go to the gym and im currently working towards another professional qualification so that takes a lot of time up outside of work. Also love going into town at weekends at the pub

She should have listed getting poled as one of your hobbies then as you are in the early stages of a realtionship. If your boyfriend is indeed fullfilling all your desires of course.......

I have a serious interest High-end audio, and Hifi & Home Cinema systems.

Listening to music and getting to as many gigs as funds will allow.

Curry, Swimming, Women. Not always in that order. ;-)

If you didn't take your bird to football you would halve your outing goings immediately. Not only should women not go to football as there is no place for them, in your case there is even more reason not to allow her as it's a significant cost saving measure. Buy her a new iron and ironing board as compensation and tell her she can look forward to saturdays watching her Friends boxsets while you are out at the football.

False economy, if she wasn't at football she'd take up shopping, and I'd also get to the pub 98% less.

Golf, Cricket at the Rosebowl and my nipper plays at Wellow on Sundays.

In footie season its watching my nipper play for Compton in Testway Saturday morning , Saints in the afternoon.

Sunday morning for Tadburn in Tyro for the u15s who I help coach. So don't watch many games a season!

I also like watching my daughters boyfriend band The Queue...another excuse to go to the pub.

Sounds to me like she rules you. Sort it out son.

I could say lucky she married me, but to be honest I'm lucky to have married her. To find a girl born within smelling distance of Notarf Krap who is such a avid Saints fan and puts up with me, i'm a very lucky man. Been married 27 years.

That's a proper heart warmer, hope the next 27 are even better.

I am absolutely staggered at the amount of stuff some people on here actually do outside of following Saints and contributing to this forum. I can spend hours just reading this forum without more than an occasional comment, yet some of you seem to contribute loads to the forum and then do all the stuff that you have listed! Unbelievable!

Personally, I love my job, working for a Christian charity supporting/encouraging churches/Christians in their work with/for children, young people and families (e.g. running holiday clubs and events, etc.) I spend much of my spare time with my family (wife and 2 girls aged 2 and 5) and after kids have gone to bed generally settle down to doss on the net (Facebook, this forum, etc.), spend time with the wife or go to activities related to the church of which I am a member. This includes heading up a group which is seeking to have a positive impact upon the community in which the church is located by running community activities, etc. - I guess this is quite similar to my job but kit is separate from it.

I would love to get back into doing some sort of fitness activity - either playing football regularly or running. I need to get myself sorted for this!

I'm a musician (guitar/vocals) in primarily two bands, so playing quite a few live gigs is my main other pastime other than my family. I have a 6 month old Grandson who WILL be a Saints supporter and increasingly he is going to take up more of my time I think. I'm also a keen photographer - portraiture and stuff like weddings mainly.

Interestingly, I've been wondering recently whether there is a 45+ year old football 'club' to get involved in. I miss having a kick about, but can't keep up with the youngsters nowadays. Anyone know of anything or any like-minded chaps interested in getting something organised - perhaps once or twice a month?

Take your boots down to Notarf Krap on a match day and you'll probably get a game!!!

You may well be right. My trouble is in my mind I still think I'm 25 and able to hack it!

Currently play football twice a week and cricket once a week but I'm still unfit as anything, but I blame that on having Addison's disease. Enjoy writing about football (had things published in the Echo), bit of photography now and again, music, all that standard stuff. Spend a lot of time looking at clothes I can't afford and not enough time working, since Tesco are sh!t with overtime. Looking for a full time job... When I'm not doing that I'm drinking, I do quite enjoy all day sessions.
