Hatch Posted 13 June, 2011 Share Posted 13 June, 2011 can anyone recommend a good camp site. Preferrably one where there is a pub nearby.
whitenred Posted 13 June, 2011 Share Posted 13 June, 2011 There's a very small one in no mans land and the pub there does good food

Block 18 Posted 13 June, 2011 Share Posted 13 June, 2011 Redshoot, the pub owns the campsite and has regular beer festivals
Saint-scooby Posted 13 June, 2011 Share Posted 13 June, 2011 The Red Shoot pub has a campsite and pikey park next to it, beer was so so, guess you could then walk to the High Corner inn from there, or take a short drive or bike ride to the Alice Lylse or the Oak at Fritham or go a bit further to the lamb at Nomansland or even my fav pub the Cuckoo "best beer for miles". The Green Dragon is great for food. But then your getting close to where I live. The North of the Forest is the best for pubs and not so many Northern folk xx

Huntingdon Posted 14 June, 2011 Share Posted 14 June, 2011 We saw them last week when down there visiting. We sat in our car for 5mins, deliberating whether it was safe to leave it or not In the space of that 5mins we saw kids chasing ponies, we watched a lad of 10 or 11 crouch down and have a crap We phoned the Police to report it, but was told there had been hundreds of complaints before us, and it takes weeks to clear them off

mdearlove Posted 14 June, 2011 Share Posted 14 June, 2011 http://tomsfield.com/ Small site near Fordingbridge. Walking distance to a pub and plenty of walking around. Owners are very nice and have fresh eggs and other food every morning. Its not a luxury site but in the top 50 in the UK according to the Guardian. dronskisaint Posted 17 June, 2011 Share Posted 17 June, 2011 Hollands Wood was good when I took the kids a couple of years back...Balmer Lawn Hotel was next door - which was my stipulation in case things turned wet. Was good though...a bit more among the trees than a lot of them.

pilsburydoughboy Posted 20 June, 2011 Share Posted 20 June, 2011 Hatch Redshoot is the way to go. We have stayed on numerous occasions and enjoy the pub on site and the high corner inn is an enjoyable half hour walk if you turn right out of the camp site then right again at the bottom of the lane you cant miss it. High corner inn do an awesome pint of cider
