since 2005, that relegation fuked everything up.....until now.

we have had a huge turnover of players and it seems most games on sky had an ex saint connection...

with the loss of theo, bale, crouch, jones, surman etc etc

lets pretend for one min that we kept them all whilst staying up in 2005...

what would be our best team if we could pick those players playing TODAY........

mine

Kelvin

baird

harding

Fonte

mills (did he leave pre or post relegation)

OxO

Surman

lallana

bale

Crouch

Walcott

something like that.....

sure beats worrying about player not signing for us

---------------------- Walcott ------------ Lambert -------------------------

Lallana -------------- Schneiderlin --------- Surman -------------- Chamberlain

Bale ------------------- Fonte -------------- Baird ------------------ Ostlund

---------------------------------- Niemi -------------------------------------

The team may be a little unbalanced but it would be my favourite.

No-one would keep Niemi ahead of Kelvin? Don't get me wrong, I love Kelvin, but for me, Niemi is quite possibly the best keeper we ever had - believe he played for us first half of our first championship season

I think Peter Shilton might disagree with you.

take it you starting watching post 88 or so?

That would apply to many of us. For so many of us Niemi is the greatest Saints 'keeper we have ever witnessed.

People can only go on what they have seen, it is no disgrace to be young. For someone like me comparing Shilton with Niemi is comparing hear'say with fact. Perspective is just that, what people see. Don't attack them if they havn't had the gift to see something more.

no, 88. Why the insult?

The small matter of Tim Flowers being the best young English goalkeeper around getting his England debut whilst with us. Dont forget Dave Bessant as well FFS. And the insult because you are an irritanting *****. FFS

Seriously? From your posts i assumed you were about 50 or older FFS.

Dont forget Verbal, he's bowed to pressure and made two or three posts on this board this week FFS.

totally agree. Why asked the question about when they started watching. Some of players raved about on here were before my time. No attack meant (nor can I see how it could be read that way? but if so sorry). You are right about having the gift of seeing players - shilton was amazing, class above any since.

Bloody hell. Half what i thought you'd be.

I forgot my birthday in April... so add one year. I'm trying to forget that 30 is on the horizon.

Because you arrogantly assumed he is the greatest keeper we've ever had. People have pointed out that there are at least two who were as good as, if not better in recent memory, including the keeper widely regarded as the best in the world at the time and the second best English goalkeeper ever, who played for Saints not in the 20's or 30's but in the 80's, so relatively recently.

Neimi, Flowers and Beasant - all very good keepers.

Shilton was a great and world class keeper for us.

Sure you will be less sensitive is a couple of days and will give you more space this time next month

believe me fella, 30 is the new 20. I am fighting more women off now than i was in my 20's. It's a fact. More confiedent, more cash in the pocket, better clothes etc etc, long may it continue.

Is there any need for the insults? The season will be upon us soon and we need to reserve our rage for the next seasons Fuller, Jermaine Wright, Jason Euell or Puncheon.

None of them in my eyes. They play for us so deserve our support when wearing the red and white or the sash. it's only the mugs on here that moan and critise the current players who deserve a slating. A lot of our fans need a huge dose of reality FFS.

Turkish, stop the insults, particularly as they seem to be based on you misreading and misunderstanding posts. Read the thread, think you have missed the point of several posts.

No, probably Nicholl and Watson for me,

Well, if I wasn't on the verge of getting engaged I could almost be quite excited! Looks like temptation will be my mistress! :D

Oh i forget, you were the bloke that was getting grief from his bird to choose a season ticket over an engagement ring. Well let me tell you sweetheart, choose the engagement ring and your relationship is doomed to fail, She'll see you as a weak pathetic chump who crumbles at any pressure. Give it a couple of years of boredom and dominating you she'll be off f*cking any bloke that shows her a bit of attention while you are at home crying yourself to sleep into your pillow, shi**ing youself about what she might be getting up to. My mantra in life is me first, me second and if there is anything left i'll have it. Also regret the things you do do, not the things you dont. Ie smash what you can, take what you cant, f*ck anyone else, seems to work alright for me. Of course you lily livered "i'm in love" morons will have to get over your own limp wristeness and deal with a world of eternal rejection and heartbreak. Good luck son.

Nothing personal meant against you Nick. It was more of a general comment. Threads like this become too personal for no good reason. Football is a game based on opinion, it would be so dull without them, but goes way too far because of them.

that wasn't the 3-4 game was it?

Nope, 1-1. Not particularly inspiring, but when you are 11 and in a packed Dell, it impresses you.

You have still given into pressure. You cant tell me in 5 years time you'll still be happy opening the same axe wound every night, unable to go near anything else without getting a boner, nor will she let you. She'll look at you in disgust and resentment at the limp wristed, pathetic excuse for a husband she now has stopping her meetin her soul mate and now deeply regrets bullying into marriage.

Indeed.

Now excuse me while I find that razor blade and bottle of Jack Daniels.

Actually, no, lets make it Glenlivet.
