Depends what you want to see!

Sex Museum, just don't go in the back room unless you like to see people inserting their genetalia into cows.

If you are going to smoke then avoid the chains like Bulldog and head to the smaller coffee shops like Global Chillage.

Keep your eyes out for cyclists when crossing the road, especially if you've smoked too much. They come from all angles, I almost got flattened a few times.

Banana Bar is popular, but can be very busy and expensive.

Van Gogh museusm is very good although I guess that's obvious.

Avoid the crowds of chavvy Brits, eat at one of the Argentine Steak restaurants (can be pricey, but the best steaks this side of the pond), Heineken Museum is pretty good, Waterbus is a great way of getting your bearings and getting about. And as has been said you need eyes in the back of your head for the cyclists and the trams don't slow down for anything! Red light district is odd, many families walking around during the day taking in the sights and at night it's mental, women range from supermodels through to women who you'd rather die than even look at. Fantastic city.

I was thinking, only a few days ago, that a few weeks had passed since the last Amsterdam thread; And, how it would be great if someone could ask they same questions again (rather than search for one of the umpteen previous threads).

Make sure you go to a LIVE sex show, where a 7' man dressed in a gorilla costume will insert his big black rubber dildo up your arse whilst your eating out his fit blonde female assistant.

How we laughed.

Well, you obviously have little life then. I mean seriously, if a thread like this on an internet forum bothers you that much, you obviously lead a very boring life indeed.

Thankyou everyone else who has replied :)

The area the other side of the red light district from the train station (if that makes any sense) is smart with lots of good normal bars and places to eat, can't remember what it was f****g called now though!

Can recommend Hotel Terminus as being clean, fairly priced and dead central.

If you are interested in my services, this applies to me too.

To be honest after your limp performance last time i'd rather hire a professional than a keen amateur.

Amsterdam is a wonderful place and not for the reasons it's associated with.

I like the Leidsplein if you want to chill out and have a beer. The Vondel park is also near there if you fancy getting away from the crowds.

The tram system is definitely the best way to get about. Opposite Grand centraal station there is a little office where you can but a Strippenkarten. It's a 3 day pass that's let use the trams as much as you want, you can get one for different lengths of time. The beer isn't cheap, around Dam square you're looking at about 8 Euros a pint at the minute, but the further out from there you go the cheaper it gets.

Plus, the $luts, weed and mushrooms are quality.
