Kadeem Hardison Posted 6 June, 2011 Posted 6 June, 2011 King Edward's, Upper Sixth, 1999. We were bally good at cricket too.

latter day saint Posted 6 June, 2011 Posted 6 June, 2011 Woolston, 5th year 1992. All double hard bastards! and some of us boys were very handy !
Rut Posted 6 June, 2011 Posted 6 June, 2011 T******d. Late 70's / early 80's. Untouchable and definitely the kings of the Waterside.
Ludwig Posted 6 June, 2011 Posted 6 June, 2011 Eton 2004, although Roedean are pretty hardcore every year.
Hamilton Saint Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 Noadswood? Never heard of it?? On the western edge of Hythe in Dibden Purlieu. My brother and older sister went there in the 60s.
Fuengirola Saint Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 On the western edge of Hythe in Dibden Purlieu. My brother and older sister went there in the 60s. That's the one, always getting battered by Applemore in the late 70's early 80's
hamster Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 A school isn't 'hard' until it's had to be renamed....twice. Upbury Manor, although in Kent still qualifies as the hardest school in Southampton. It's a bit like asking for the toughest soldier in the boy scouts.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 Evry ovva skool in sarfampton use 2 wear Bitterne Park Massiff Jim Jams 2 bed. And WOT!? brup.
ericofarabia Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 Alderman Quilley in Eastleigh early 70's - more of a Borstal overflow than a place of education.
Fowllyd Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 Alderman Quilley in Eastleigh early 70's - more of a Borstal overflow than a place of education. Having been at Barton Peveril at that time (ah, those green blazers! the badge that looked like a cabbage!) I can only agree.
Huntingdon Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 T******d. Late 70's / early 80's. Untouchable and definitely the kings of the Waterside. That brought a smile to my face Some of the clashes with Hounsdown in Brockenford were legendary
hutch Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 Having been at Barton Peveril at that time (ah, those green blazers! the badge that looked like a cabbage!) I can only agree. Eric was just biding his time, waiting for a chance to sneak across the playing field for a proper educashun.
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 7 June, 2011 Author Posted 7 June, 2011 ****ing Hardley mush. Every ****ing year. ****s. Hardley educated and Apple-poor. Rubbish schools.
ericofarabia Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 Eric was just biding his time, waiting for a chance to sneak across the playing field for a proper educashun. I had to - AQ only offered CSE's so I had to go to BP to sit GCE's and then A levels and had a brilliant time doing it as well. Of course being a 6th Former I didn't have to dress up like a Green Fly in a cabbage patch LOL
scotty Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 I'm gonna start with Noadswood, Year 11 2000-2001. **** off, Hardley Yr.11 2001-2002. I was working in both of those from the mid eighties on. Christ, I'm old.... Didnt notice them as being particularly rough tho, the only school I worked at that I didnt really like going to was toynbee in eastleigh. Then again, I never liked going to eastleigh.
dellboypete Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 Alderman Quilley in Eastleigh early 70's - more of a Borstal overflow than a place of education. how did you manage to get out then eric? Bet you didn't declare that on your residence visa application!!!

Christ, I'm old.... Didnt notice them as being particularly rough tho, the only school I worked at that I didnt really like going to was toynbee in eastleigh. Then again, I never liked going to eastleigh. Being ex-Quilley myself I can only add that it wasn't any better in the mid-late 70's either. As for the other 2 'schools' I've quoted, my brother was expelled from Barton Peveril in the early 70's for slapping a couple of teachers. Upon expulsion he was sent to Toynbee (this was when it was still in Toynbee Road). I think they didn't want to send him to Quilley in case he walked across the field for another pop or two.

Of course being a 6th Former I didn't have to dress up like a Green Fly in a cabbage patch LOL As a member of the penultimate grammar school intake, I remember feeling most hacked off when the last lot didn't have to wear that uniform in their final year (my first in the 6th form). I'd been looking forward to going in wearing jeans etc while they still had to wear blazers! You might find yourself in a college photo here http://www.bartonians.uni4m.co.uk/ if there was one taken of your year. I'm in the 1978 one, and a gruesome sight it is too!
sambosa75 Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 It's all about Thornden. We had a school of nutters next door called Pitmore. We'd just set them lose on you whilst we play Tennis or perhaps take in a show in the Arts theatre.

scotty Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 Mr Scott....PE Teacher...? You gave me a detention once.... not me mate, I dont mean full time, just some specialised maintenance work. Would have only amounted to half a day every four months or so, contract stuff.
ecuk268 Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 Having been at Barton Peveril at that time (ah, those green blazers! the badge that looked like a cabbage!) I can only agree. I was at BP a few years earlier. Remember epic snowball fights with the Quilleyites on the playing fields.
Deano6 Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 King Edward's, Upper Sixth, 1999. We were bally good at cricket too. Indeed they were - John Francis and Ian Brunnschwiler came out of that crop to play professionally.
Wade Garrett Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 I think a lot of undesirables over a long period of time attended Merry Oak. F*cking pikeys. They'd **** all over you carrot crunchers. Quite a lot of rivalry back in the day between them, Woolston and Weston Park. I kept out of it all and concentrated on my knitting.

scotty Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 I was at BP a few years earlier. Remember epic snowball fights with the Quilleyites on the playing fields. As do I. Were you one of the lads like me who spent their afternoon breaks in the corner of the playing fields near the newsie drinking special brew and smoking tabs?
