Give it to Ron Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 Anyone going to U21 Game today? Me and my nippers footie team. I hope its better than that abysmal performance last night.
landford.saint Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 Mrs LS and I are thinking of pottering down, presume ticket office open today.
VectisSaint Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 There can't possibly be any football on today, I distinctly recall that **** Adrian Chiles saying after the England game last night that it was the end of the football season. I think they should have ended it before last night, after all the great games over the last couple of weeks, right down to the League 2 play-off semis, it was somewhat embarrassing to see the "cream" of English players showing how not play football, the poor little darlings were evidently a little bit tired. Well they should try playing as many games as we did, let alone teams like Huddersfield, Swansea and so on. Fatigued my arse, they are just over paid primadonnas who couldn't give a rat's arse about playing for their country. Give me club football any time over the waste of space that is international football.
Saint_Jonny Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 I'm going football is football after all. And its at St.Marys so why not eh? I'm going to make a massive banner that says "SIGN FOR SAINTS CORK, WE LOVE YOOOOOOU!!!!"

landford.saint Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 Cheers re: ticket office. Tiredness is I agree a cr@p excuse. Let alone the number of games FL teams play, look at some of the pitches (or muddy fields) we have played on the last couple of seasons.
saints-cris Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 Tiredness is a joke. Last season my footy side had a massive backlog of games over easter.. we had 3 games in 1 week. We worked our normal jobs then had a match in the evening. Tired my arse, England players seem to forget that doing what they do is a blessing. Saints over England. They dont care so why should I.
CitySaint Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 It's on ESPN if anyone is interested, was going to go but when Adam didn't make the final squad my interest levels waned. Have no real interest in England at any level and I know it's only a tenner, but there is £465 to be spent at the end of the month!!!

Dead right. Way back when I was keen & fit we had three weeks like that. Many of us played Saturdays, Sundays, Wednesday nights with the odd 5-a-side thrown in as well. We still managed that, played the re-arranged fixtures, went to work, got p issed, sh agged the gf & still had change from a tenner. Back on thread, me, the boys & 2 of the boys mates are going this afty.
Mattio Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 Yep should be, does this come under the cortese tax for buying on the gate?
trousers Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 Anyone aware of any live streams for the game? Cheers

Precisely and AL not being picked has really also given me even less reason to care..........................
PaulSaint Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 Just back, about 18k there. Atomsphere was very poor but England played well and won 2-0. Jack Cork came on for the whole of the 2nd half, did alright. Overall not bad for £20 ( me and the 2 kids).
The Cat Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 Didn't have one, but the pasties looked nice. Handmade in cornwall apparently.
egg Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 Not a great game.I spent to first half saying ****e rose was and how it was a crime that he was in team ahead of lallana. He then scored a cracker. That aside I thought that his general play was well below the quality that Adam could haVe provided. Cork was steady at right back but would add nothing to our side if he played in that position. The keeper, fielding, produced about the worst display of distribution that I have ever seen. Not the best game but a bargain at the price.

saintscottofthenortham Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 Both my beef madras ones were superb. Still not a Chicken f*****g Balti though is it!
saintmatt77 Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 The lager has changed aswell, bottles of Carling now!

In fairness Rose is an out and out winger whereas Lallana would have been competing with Cleverly and Lansbury.
Thedelldays Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 In fairness Rose is an out and out winger whereas Lallana would have been competing with Cleverly and Lansbury. fair point and cleverley is very good
southamptonfclegend Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 it was rubbish/boring. I miss watching Saints.
haddock22 Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 The lager has changed aswell, bottles of Carling now! Just as bad then. Great.
Colinjb Posted 5 June, 2011 Posted 5 June, 2011 The lager has changed aswell, bottles of Carling now! Oh sh*t. That stuff is awful, at least Carlsberg has some taste to it.
landford.saint Posted 6 June, 2011 Posted 6 June, 2011 One of the most boring games of football I have seen in a long long time. You could here the crowd talking amongst themselves most of the match, and people were constantly getting up for food etc. Fielding couple good saves but kicking distribution very poor. Cork was solid but not exceptional against poor opposition. No one really shone, although Sturridge looked better than most. However nice to watch some live football.
Chez Posted 6 June, 2011 Posted 6 June, 2011 Fielding had a shocker distribution wise and got worse as the game went on. he made one great save but almost let a simple one through his hands. Cleverley looked decent to me when he came on. He was busy and looked well up for the game and instilled some much needed enthusiasm into the second half. Lansbury looked OK in the hole, but a tad casual and certainly no better than Lallana. Pretty boring game. Friendlies suck. Free ticket though so you might as well.
saint_stevo Posted 6 June, 2011 Posted 6 June, 2011 Fielding must have had his boots on the wrong feet, shocking
