I find that the biggest insult of them all. I do not tolerate any form of racism, no matter how minor, and it is certainly not conducted in the art of "basic trolling". It is something I take very seriously in 'real life' as well.

You seem to tolerate your mate JFP casual xenophobia? is that OK now in your world then Bungle?

Hmm, good question.

By the way, I reported something earlier, and nothing has happened. I'm sticking to my view that the complaints system is an elaborate hoax.

Ive seen the email, but Im too busy with this thread to have a look at the complaint. Im sure the other Mods and Admins will also see it at some point too.

Can he report his own post?

It's all too much for me to work out. If he does report his own post, can he then back his post when defending himself later on? Maybe he would be able to sign something to say that at the time of making his post he was losing heavily in an argument, thus making him resort to the very kind of language that they ask us to refrain from using. By doing so I feel the other mods will take him under their wing for some extra training and he will hit the road in good form for the future.

I do not recall the thread the comment you are quoting was posted on. However, if the person JFP is referring to is French, and JFP considers them a "tw at" then it would be the same difference as if he had said "French legend" had his views been opposite.

Oh dear, I dont think you have thought this through.

If the chap in the article has been of African origin and Shane had posted the words "Black tw at", you would have been all over him as quick as a wink. Do you deny that?

That is pretty much the stance I took to be honest. He is French and also a bit of a tw at for getting his hand stuck down the toilet and causing so much hassle for all concerned. It in no way affects my feelings towards the French or will affect my plans to buy a holiday home in Brittany.

Had the person merely been of African origin (and that all the information available) then to judge on grounds of race would be absurd as there are both white and black Africans. The fact you have assumed that African origin = black is, frankly, a bit racist.

You shouldn't call African people "has beens." They deserve the same respect as the French, Germans and even the Dutch. Even if they are tw ats.

Please inform me of your holiday home plans as and when they develop, as I would be interested in renting it off you for a week at substantially lower than market value. Many thanks.

Now that is the best sidestep Ive ever seen!

Now, Im not aware of any "white" native Africans, but thats beside the point.

Cmon Bungle, answer the question put to you. If the article had been about a black man and someone had posted "black tw at", would you or would you not have accused them of racism?

It is not a side step. It is an answer to your question. If this story had happened in Africa, and someone had said "black tw at", then yes, I would accuse them of being racist as there would be no information available as to what the race of the person in question was.

It isn't really beside the point. Basically the reverse to this is to say that black British people are not really British in your eyes. It's the same both ways you know.

No, answer the question please, not what you would want the question to be:

If the article had been about a black man and someone had posted "black tw at", would you or would you not have accused them of racism?

Well it would, wouldn't it? I concede that. He could have been a black French tw at or a white French tw at though. To stop being racist in this instance it is best to remove the colour of his skin from the argument and just stick to the basics. He is a French tw at. A tw at that is French.

To argue against you is to say for instance that you didn't like someone as they were too black. That would never do.

I am answering your question. You just don't get it, do you? As JFP has shown above the issue of race does not come into it, and you are also denying there are white Africans now, to boot.

Right. I've been reading this load of rubbish and I'd like to mae a few points.

Firstly, I cannot see that there could be any reasonable complaint that could arise from someone's opinion that a person is "too black" for their personal tastes. it's like saying that someone's nose is too large or that they don't like their hair colour. It is only racist if the person saying it means it to be, otherwise it is just a personal preference being opined.

Secondly, racism isn't confined to colour. Calling someone a French twa t is as bad as calling someone a black twa t or a Sikh twa t or an Argentinian twa t. Having said that, joke or no, I shall be upset if any further derogatory remarks are made about race.

I have looked at Pancake's reported post, and, as this is TMS, I have decided to take no action. Not because his comment was justified, but because the forum in which the comment appeared is designed to be more relaxed. This is not to say that blatant and hurtful insults will be tolerated; they won't. But just calling someone thick really doesn't fall into that category.

Anyway children. Off you go and play nicely.

That's all well and good but what if you say someone's nose is too big and you already knew they were Jewish? Furthermore, were you thinking of a Jew when you said it or, perhaps Barry Manilow? What have you got against Barry Manilow anyway?

Large noses aren't the prerogative of Jewish people. Oh and by the way, the Jews are not a race, but they are a defined class under the Race Relations Act owing to a common religion, much as Sikhs are.

And I have an awful lot against Barry Manilow, none of it due to the size of his proboscis or his religion, more to the fact that his "music" makes me want to put my head through a brick wall.

Come see the violence inherent in the system.

PMSL. That comment just about sums everything up. "Thank you for coming to my rescue DSM. I am hopelessly out of my depth, and totally wrong and am trying to dig my way out of this hole."

Yes, thats the one. DSM comes on and backs up 100% of what I was saying and yet I'm in the wrong.

Bungle you are a really really boring, grade A troll.
