Colinjb Posted 3 June, 2011 Posted 3 June, 2011 Proof that Bernie Ecclestone has lost the plot, even ignoring the fact this essentially validates using force to quiet the Bahraini population it also is deeply deeply unfair on all people who had scheduled to attend the first Indian Grand Prix. An utter disgrace.
scotty Posted 3 June, 2011 Posted 3 June, 2011 If anybodys interested, he has his very own nomination on here http://www.c*ntscorner.com/c*nt_view.php?c*nt_id=3791 Obviously, you'll need to replace the asterisks.......
Sheaf Saint Posted 3 June, 2011 Posted 3 June, 2011 From the BBC article... "This is welcome news for all of Bahrain," said Zayed Rashid Alzayani, chairman of the Bahrain International Circuit, which will host the race. "As a country we have faced a difficult time, but stability has returned, with businesses operating close to normal and countries removing travel restrictions." Yeah, stability has returned because your despotic royal family drafted in the Saudi army to assist in ruthlessly oppressing any form of dissent, even going as far as kidnapping and murdering doctors and nurses for the heinous crime of treating protestors. This world is ******* sick!
DS Posted 3 June, 2011 Posted 3 June, 2011 I'm done with F1 after this decision. I won't add to their viewing figures if they're going to make decisions which basically justify oppression.
LGTL Posted 3 June, 2011 Posted 3 June, 2011 "it's not about the money". No, of course it isn't, Bernie.
Barry the Badger Posted 4 June, 2011 Posted 4 June, 2011 "it's not about the money". No, of course it isn't, Bernie. Yeah, I couldn't help but laugh when I read that. What the **** is it about then?
JackFrost Posted 7 June, 2011 Posted 7 June, 2011 Bernie's apparently trying to overturn the ruling. Now that such opposition has been voiced he's miraculously changed his tune

Sheaf Saint Posted 8 June, 2011 Posted 8 June, 2011 Word is that FOTA were told to go and **** themselves until a couple of the major sponsors joined forces with FOTA and mentioned backing out. So it seems the sponsors have more money that the Al Khalifas... It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Despite the poison dwarf's protestations to the contrary, Formula one IS all about the money, so if the sponsors decide they didn't want their reputations tarnished then it is they who have the ultimate authority.
Lighthouse Posted 8 June, 2011 Posted 8 June, 2011 I'm pretty sure this race wont go ahead, but if it does we could have something similar to the 2005 USA GP where all the competitors just pull into the pits after the parade lap. This would of course be highly embarassing for all the arseholes running F1, so the teams have a fair bit of clout in that respect. I hope F1 never returns to Bahrain, on moral and boring the sh*t out of me grounds.
