SFKA South Woodford Posted 1 June, 2011 Share Posted 1 June, 2011 Did anyone else on here apply? If so, have you been allocated any tickets? Do you know anyone who has been successful in getting some? I applied for 5 different events and unless my bank is being very slow displaying payments, I haven't been allocated any! I'm more upset for my girlfriend than for me, as she really wanted to go.

aintforever Posted 1 June, 2011 Share Posted 1 June, 2011 I applied for a few but didn't get any. Just had some fat geezer on the news who has "won" 11k worth of tickets - seems a bit unfair, surely as soon as you won one set of tickets you should be put at the back of the queue for the others? Also seems odd how some people spend thousands to watch events they probably wouldn't cross the road to watch if it wasn't the Olympics.
southbourne saint Posted 1 June, 2011 Share Posted 1 June, 2011 I applied for 4 days x 2 tickets each = £400 Just had £100 taken out of the account but cant get on the official site to see which day I got, it just says I will be contacted by 24th June. dubai_phil Posted 1 June, 2011 Share Posted 1 June, 2011 I didn't apply for any tickets. My mate runs an event company at the Olympics. I have just found out I will be an event manager next summer. It cost me 2 pints of Magners and letting him beat me at Golf. I think that was a much fairer way than becoming a Local Councillor.

hamster Posted 1 June, 2011 Share Posted 1 June, 2011 My mate runs an event company at the Olympics. I have just found out I will be an event manager next summer. . I am so proud that my Bessie mate and former coach will be hosting events. Obviously I will lay myself at your service to help In any way I can, mate. I won't charge either even if you do STILL owe me a Guinness. I would also let you beat meant golf into the bargain, I could even caddy, anything actually. ..almost forgot the Harrods marmalade, did you never notice that it was out of date, lol.. Chez Posted 1 June, 2011 Share Posted 1 June, 2011 applied for two weekends worth and only got Roman Grecko wrestling. Pretty much what I expected as I went for the Athletics and they were always going to be almost impossible to get. Surprised at the number of people moaning at not getting tickets. How many of these people have gone for non final, non weekend, non athletics?
Mattio Posted 1 June, 2011 Share Posted 1 June, 2011 how do you find this out? I forget which bank account I even used!
dubai_phil Posted 2 June, 2011 Share Posted 2 June, 2011 Lol. I have a very smug daughter today over in London. She's into equestrian stuff. She had rows with her mates about how she should apply for zillions of different tickets so she would be sure to get something... Nope, she only wanted to see the showjumping final could give a rats about any other Olympic event. She only applied for 2 tickets - got them both. Her friends who applied for zillions? got the sum total of nothing between the 10 of them.

pedg Posted 2 June, 2011 Share Posted 2 June, 2011 Applied for lots of the popular ones, assuming I would not get any, and that was indeed the case. Son into fencing so did apply for tickets for the day with several fencing finals and did get those. Knowing my luck it will go the way of his diving and he will not be interested in it at all come the day.
Yate Saint Posted 2 June, 2011 Share Posted 2 June, 2011 I didn't get any either. The girlf did though. I'm gutted. However I did read earlier on the bbc that 'London 2012 expects to have collected all payments for tickets released so far by 10 June, even though most have already been taken' You never know!!
