SO16_Saint Posted 31 May, 2011 Share Posted 31 May, 2011 Since when did BBC South Today, Or whatever it's called, show news from Milton Keynes?
Puddings and Monkeys Posted 31 May, 2011 Share Posted 31 May, 2011 I saw that too - ****ing disgraceful. That Sally Taylor bint should be sacked - she should have got the chop years ago to be honest; she's turning a news programme into a village magazine. Poor. John Boy Saint Posted 31 May, 2011 Share Posted 31 May, 2011 The South Today signal goes up through Oxfordshire for some reason, we stayed up in the Cotswolds once, and at 6:30 Sally pops up!!!!? Shame Radio Solent only just makes it to Basingstoke in fits and starts.
dune Posted 31 May, 2011 Share Posted 31 May, 2011 She has a bit of the Jaqui Smiths about her. I expect she's a Socialist.

Oh for f***s sake dune, what the f*** has that got to do with anything? Why can't you ever respond to anything on here without accusing somebody involved of being a socialist? Do you honestly not realise how much of a tvvat you make yourself look by constantly trotting out the same old garbage on every thread?

Ideally it would only be Hants, Dorset, Wilts and West Sussex - Berkshire could be lumped in with Oxfordshire and Bucks. Including Oxfordshire and Milton Keynes is I presume a way of cutting costs as they can get rid of a regional BBC office or two.
bridge too far Posted 31 May, 2011 Share Posted 31 May, 2011 In the evening, for us, South Today covers Oxfordshire for 15 minutes and then goes over to Hampshire for the last 15 minutes. So we always get 'our' sports news from Hampshire. However, for some reason, on Fridays we have to turn to Sky 984 to get all South Today from Hampshire or otherwise we're stuck with Oxford news for the whole 30 minutes. So, in a nutshell, BBC South does cover a very wide region but in the evenings it breaks down into more local stuff. There is a BBC studio in Oxford. Trader Posted 31 May, 2011 Share Posted 31 May, 2011 At least they won't be harping on about "The Royals" at every opportunity next season as if they were a local club.

Remember the BBC transmitter is on the Island. Agree with posters about Sally Taylor though. Should be sacked and some of the other nerds with her, especially the so-called sports reporters. Whit-monday early evening News, last item on the Main news. Reading v Swansea. First item on the local news, Reading v Swansea, six minutes of tripe by Tony Husband, (Skate lover). Oh, and well said Dune.

If they have Sky, they can get it on channel 984. Trust me - I have to use this channel when I'm at my daughters' houses in High Wycombe, otherwise I'd only get London news. You can access any BBC local news channel if you have Sky.
