S-Clarke Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 No surprise really, Cardiff should have been promoted last year with the squad they had. That's 2 season in a row they've thrown it away at the death tbh.
Elmore Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 Just looking at their retained list - they had 7 players on loan last season! That is mental - surely there should be a lower limit on loanees. IMO loans should only be allowed in an emergency (e.g. to cover a key player for a short term through injury) or if it is with a view to a permanent deal. Anyone know how many loanees portsmouth had last season? http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10335~2365162,00.html
Smirking_Saint Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 I don't think you should limit loans as it will stop some of the development of players and probably damaging our international development even more (although the sheer amount of players pulling out of U17's, 19's and 21's is just sickening) However I do believe that clubs should have to be a lower limit and also clubs should have to pay at least 75% of their wages. Koumas would have been on decent wages from the prem and he hardly played him. To be fair, I think Jones should have got promoted with that squad and he must have known the writing was on the wall when they slipped up again.
